Only reason to keep him scratch is that he will drop his trade value on ice.
Why is he not traded yet? Only reason for that has to be his value. So he isn't valuable to be traded nor to iced. :huh:

So is he too valuable to be waived?

If I were a betting man I'd say Strome is traded for some crappy veteran.
I don't see a way in which the Strome trade favours Stan.

If he trades for a vet, it's going to look really bad when the Hawks still miss the playoffs.

If he trades for a prospect, it's going to look really bad since Stan mortgaged the future on Seth Jones to go in "win now" mode. You don't trade Strome for a guy who isn't going to play this year if you're trying to win now.

If he trades for a player of similar ilk, what's the point? Lateral move at best.

So I just don't see a scenario in which a Strome trade could be a success.

You would need someone to overpay, but nobody is going to overpay for a player that you consistently scratched. Probably shouldn't have done that...
