Friedman: Dylan Larkin requests trade

Yzerman is not trading Larkin for any centerpiece older than 25. Seider is now 25 and he is the guy they are building around

If Anaheim is willing, McTavish would be an awesome centerpiece for a Larkin swap. Larkin would fit it really well there and there's so many young guys up front to do all the scoring while he plays more defensively as a 2C still likely putting up 60 points behind Carlsson

Good on D-Bo$$! Detroit has been an embarrassment for years.

GM's toss around NMC's like they're shrimp at Hibachi - now Larkin holds the cards.

More players should follow suit.

It'll be interesting to see what Larkin will provide Detroit since he has a full NTC right now. There's always a center market but if he only wants to go to a handful of teams, they probably won't get prime value.

Really depends on what detroit wants I guess? do they go full rebuild or try and patch it by trading him for a mctavish/ JEE piece.
I'd be very surprised if they go full rebuild, personally. Yzerman will be fired before that happens.

Btw, while Habs can obviously offer much more than 1st + top prospect, I think the odds of Larkin waiving to Canada with so many years left on his deal are next to nil.

Same offer I made for Matthew Barzal with a twist…

Chicago offered #4 overall in 2026, two 1sts in 2027(Chicago has its own and Edm, Fla) and Teravainen for Barzal and NYIs 1st in 2026

So now
Chicago offers #4 overall in 2026, two 1sts in 2027(Chi Edm Fla picks) and Teravainen for Larkin and Nate Danielson

He's not asking out for the sake of it, though. I would bet Larkin holds out for a deal with a contender.
Agreed, that's why I think it could be tough.

If Larkin is flexible - i.e. willing to go to, say, any of the top 10 - 12 contenders - a deal will be easy. If he is willing to go only to Minnesota, Vegas, Colorado, Dallas, Tampa, Florida, or Carolina, and won't budge.... a deal will be far more difficult, and may drag on.

I don't think Yzerman will be happy negotiating with only one serious bidder, and can see him putting his foot down if it comes to that.

Why would Detroit give up Danielson if they're clearly rebuilding after trading Larkin?
