He wasn't that impressive to me. Also it's a meaningless game.Cozens with a heck of a game tonight
The real test for him starts on Sunday evening.

Because they traded for a player who has the same level of goal output. They didn't just give Cozens away.I really don't have much faith in Cozens and it makes you wonder why Buffalo would just let him go.

This. We’d probably be 100+ point team if we started the year with him, just by the fact that there would be a servicable body occupying the 2C slot and Pinto could just be the 3C for the entire year.
Norris only missed 8 games for us this year, we lost 6 of those games, so maybe having Cozens gets us an extra couple wins in those games to push us over 100 pts, but Pinto was out for 4 of those loses too so we can't blame it all on Norris' health. We’d probably be 100+ point team if we started the year with him, just by the fact that there would be a servicable body occupying the 2C slot and Pinto could just be the 3C for the entire year.
With the instant chemistry that Zetterlund had with Cozens and Drake, I think we may see more of that line.This.
Pinto/Greig/Amadio playing the way they are is a huge advantage in the 3 spot.
Even if Cozens/Bath/Perron are inconsistent, the talent is there and other teams need to repect that.
Pinto lines makes for advantageous line matches both on the road and at home - although in different ways.
Yeah, I am expecting that our lines in the playoffs will remain fairly fluid, just like they have been all year. With the instant chemistry that Zetterlund had with Cozens and Drake, I think we may see more of that line.
Green seems comfortable moving Zetterlund around a bit, so while I believe he starts with Z on the 4th line, he may spell both G and Perron at times.
I agree except for the 3rd line. There would have to be a major issue to break those 3 up. They will be catalysts to a victory IMO. Too good, too consistent, too great of a match-up against other top lines.Yeah, I am expecting that our lines in the playoffs will remain fairly fluid, just like they have been all year.
I think that the main duos of Stutz/Tkachuk, Cozens/Bath & Pinto/Greig will remain intact and then wingers FabZ, Giroux, Perron, Amadio & possibly Cousins will rotate in & out of those 3 duos & the 4th line.
Two unreal games in a row. He's playing well at the right time.Cozens with a heck of a game tonight
I actually think he wins more puck battles than Norris. He is much worse defensively and has lower IQ, sadly.Finishes the season with 47 points (same as last year) and scored at a 62 point pace while with Ottawa.
He doesn't battle for pucks the way Norris does and is much worse defensively, but he's available and has chemistry with Batherson. It's an immediate win and will be going forward simply because he's healthy enough to play.
Remember without him, Gaudette plays on the 3rd line.I definitely understand why Sabres fans had it out for this guy
Just zero drive and competitiveness. Plays at half speed and kind of has to because he's not a smart player and the game goes too fast for him.
His defensive effort on the OT winner was gross. No idea what he was thinking there.
If some team desperate for a center is willing to pay something for him in the off-season we should seriously consider trading him and getting out of that contract.

Cozens has been ass lately, but I shudder to see how our C depth is with Pinto going up to the second line.
I think this is a little harsh, but there is no question he has more to give and you wish the guys like him had the snarl and drive automatically. If only he could have gotten the puck up quicker, or closer to Stolarz ears...Just zero drive and competitiveness. I need to see it again, it looked like Domi had the angle to make the cut and Cozens was in a tough spot. Could have done more though. His defensive effort on the OT winner was gross. No idea what he was thinking there.
I am curious as to what GMSS will be doing this off season. Will he take anything away from the playoff performances and make big adjustments? He already got rid of Norris and can't be that attached to Cozens. If some team desperate for a center is willing to pay something for him in the off-season we should seriously consider trading him and getting out of that contract.
