You didn’t notice his two game winning goals?
You mean his 1 GWG? His goal against the Flyers was the 4th goal.

Yes, I have seen his goals and I believe my point is obviously not about when he scores.

Maybe that's why I'm also so incensed when I see a mistake but Chabot. I still would give him terrible review today while he's on our team. Part of that may be that he plays more like a 5-6M and has for the last 2-3 years without any real progress.

You haven’t seen any progress with Chabot this season?

Chabot has a bad game last night and (checks notes) right, Hamonic was his partner.

Kleven has a bad game and (checks notes) right, Hamonic was his partner.

Sanderson loses all confidence in his play and has to get a supplementary coach and (checks his notes) right, Hamonic was his partner at that point in the season.

It's really difficult to follow all 32 teams, and I understand that for those generic low tier blogs that there is some incentive to pump out generic content, but they should at least do their homework. It's not hard to Google daily faceoff to double check, even know Giroux has never been a C regularly in Ottawa.
Giroux is in year 3 in Ottawa

Buffalo fans just saying what they saw. We were talking about trading Tkachuk not more than a month ago and imagine the scouting reports some would deliver on Chabot if we traded him before this season.

That team has been struggling for years and that has a huge effect on developing players, not to mention every mistake is amplified out the ass when you're already down on someone. It's very possible that what both Ottawa and Buffalo fans have seen is true even though the opinions are almost opposite. We've only had 5 games to evaluate at a time everything is going our way.
“We” weren’t talking about trading BT, that was just a handful of wayward souls!

Big hit on Tanev, generates a turnover, gets a great shot on net.

I really don’t get this “Cozens doesn’t hit” narrative.

Sens scorekeeper must have called Tanev during the intermission to plan him taking a dive.

To be fair, Pronman has said scouts have issues with his hockey IQ too, so it’s not just a Sabres fan thing.

I’m not seeing it so far though. He hasn’t done a single thing that had me thinking he’s dumb out there so it is kind of a strange assessment.

Maybe concerns about his hockey IQ are in relation to being a first line center? As in not extremely creative?

He certainly seems to play a simple, straight-forward game. That doesn’t equate to low IQ to me.

Cozens has fit seamlessly on the second line in place of Josh Norris, whom the Senators sent to the Buffalo Sabres in the deal. He and his linemates, David Perron and Drake Batherson, have generated 70.9 per cent of the expected goals at even strength and outscored opponents 4-0 through five games. Scoring chances are 20-7 in the Senators’ favour.

The only thing I can think of is maybe he thought Giroux was a winger, but then saw that he leads the team over the last three years in faceoffs taken by a wide margin and starts to second guess himself.

It's not to often a winger has 1000 more faceoffs than the next closest guy on the team, granted, he's played more games than any of our centers over those three years except for Stu, who started as a winger, and often doesn't take faceoffs.

Sure I'll buy that. But it clearly means he doesn't know what he's talking about

To play devils (sabres?) advocate, you can tell that there was some psychological damage done to cozens from his time there that must have shook his confidence, messed with his head, and likely had a huge impact on his play on ice.

You could see it it early interviews when he first arrived here when he was asked about his time there in Buffalo, he wore it on his face when answering, he felt he had to own the failure, backpedaling and so on. It’s like you could see the worry creep back into his facial expression and so on. I felt sorry for him having to answer for that. That’s tough for a young player to put on their shoulders.

It’s no wonder a new start and a different situation has lit a spark for him, and early signs of his play here show the player touted in his draft reports. It’s been said before, but seems like it’s a trend that players leaving Buffalo leave their poor play behind and become different better players. It’s gotta be tough to swallow as a Buffalo fan.

He’s very skilled in the skill areas and he wants it, your right as you say he lacks maturity and he obviously has a ton to prove and playing to win and playing to impress and completely different things and to me he still has a long way to go dominate a hockey game shift to shift

First impressions: seems like with Cozens on the team we have a bit more bite offensively, but on the other hand our shot suppression has suffered (don't know if numbers support this). Our games are more "exciting", for better or worse. I don't know if it all should be attributed to the Cozens-Norris swap; the injury to Jensen and the Zetterlund trade are certainly a factor too.

We’ll see. We’ve also been getting a lethal dose of Travis Hamonic these past few games so that doesn’t help.

I have noticed while Pinto has still been great, he's been a bit more overwhelmed defensively being the de facto shutdown guy now compared to being able to rely on Norris a bit in the past.

I find Pinto stands out over Cosens defensively for his size and tenacity, cozens is great when he’s in the slot creating chances but overall I’ve found he’s been queit and I notice how much more aggressive and assertive Pinto plays in comparison.

The thing about Cozens line is he doesn’t have a Ridly Greig who’ll get the entire line going and into the game, I wonder if Cozens played with players who were engaged emotionally more if we’d see him be more assertive

I like his game but I know what Sabers fans mean by him being a bit doppy. He needs to work on his assertivensss, Cozens joins the play he doesn’t lead it

He’s quite literally been leading the play the most of any Sen the past 3 weeks, by a pretty sizeable amount

maybe he's actually like a really good player lol
This is even a question? This is the biggest direct highway robbery the sens have made since the Yashin for Spezza/Chara deal.

My jaw dropped when the deal was done. It hit the floor when the sens got the 2nd round pick. I thought it was a typo.

Norris is a great player but his cap hit and injuries I dont know how he had any value at all.

Cozens isnt done developing either, big guy longer dev curve man he can fly and extend the zone.

The Senators don't have a true shutdown centre or D man. That was made pretty obvious last night.

No team fears entering our D zone nor standing in the crease area because we have a very soft set of D. Hamonic is the only one with some physicality but he comes with limitations. We need to upgrade our D to get some physicality and toughness.
