Maybe that's why I'm also so incensed when I see a mistake but Chabot. I still would give him terrible review today while he's on our team. Part of that may be that he plays more like a 5-6M and has for the last 2-3 years without any real progress.

You haven’t seen any progress with Chabot this season?

Chabot has a bad game last night and (checks notes) right, Hamonic was his partner.

Kleven has a bad game and (checks notes) right, Hamonic was his partner.

Sanderson loses all confidence in his play and has to get a supplementary coach and (checks his notes) right, Hamonic was his partner at that point in the season.

It's really difficult to follow all 32 teams, and I understand that for those generic low tier blogs that there is some incentive to pump out generic content, but they should at least do their homework. It's not hard to Google daily faceoff to double check, even know Giroux has never been a C regularly in Ottawa.

Buffalo fans just saying what they saw. We were talking about trading Tkachuk not more than a month ago and imagine the scouting reports some would deliver on Chabot if we traded him before this season.

That team has been struggling for years and that has a huge effect on developing players, not to mention every mistake is amplified out the ass when you're already down on someone. It's very possible that what both Ottawa and Buffalo fans have seen is true even though the opinions are almost opposite. We've only had 5 games to evaluate at a time everything is going our way.
“We” weren’t talking about trading BT, that was just a handful of wayward souls!

Big hit on Tanev, generates a turnover, gets a great shot on net.

I really don’t get this “Cozens doesn’t hit” narrative.

Sens scorekeeper must have called Tanev during the intermission to plan him taking a dive.

To be fair, Pronman has said scouts have issues with his hockey IQ too, so it’s not just a Sabres fan thing.

I’m not seeing it so far though. He hasn’t done a single thing that had me thinking he’s dumb out there so it is kind of a strange assessment.

Maybe concerns about his hockey IQ are in relation to being a first line center? As in not extremely creative?

He certainly seems to play a simple, straight-forward game. That doesn’t equate to low IQ to me.

Cozens has fit seamlessly on the second line in place of Josh Norris, whom the Senators sent to the Buffalo Sabres in the deal. He and his linemates, David Perron and Drake Batherson, have generated 70.9 per cent of the expected goals at even strength and outscored opponents 4-0 through five games. Scoring chances are 20-7 in the Senators’ favour.

The only thing I can think of is maybe he thought Giroux was a winger, but then saw that he leads the team over the last three years in faceoffs taken by a wide margin and starts to second guess himself.

It's not to often a winger has 1000 more faceoffs than the next closest guy on the team, granted, he's played more games than any of our centers over those three years except for Stu, who started as a winger, and often doesn't take faceoffs.

Sure I'll buy that. But it clearly means he doesn't know what he's talking about
