Dwight King Appreciation Thread

Amongst all NHL players who have logged at least 60 minutes of shorthanded ice time, King leads the league with an on-ice 2.46 goals-against per 60 minutes. Only four goals have been scored on Los Angeles during King’s 97 and a half minutes of shorthanded time this season.
 
I ragged on dwight king more than anyone in here and i will say i will miss him in a few ways. He was getting better defensively and was good on the pk. I will also say not his fault sutter played him as much as he did. He was a loyal soldier for us in the playoffs for 2 cups I wish him nothing but the best in montreal I also really hope he resigns there for at least one year so the return on him is closer to what it should have been. I was hoping when i first saw the deal it was made to make room for a bigger move i was disapointed there wasn't I think Dean undersold him imo

So now we know why McNabb is in the lineup night after night, mistake after mistake. He's been groomed to be the new teachers pet with the subtraction of King.

I knew the usual haters would be celebrating after hearing about this move but Dwight never deserved all of the bashing he got here.

Important cog on two Cup winning teams. Nothing but the best to him for the rest of his career.

Budaj helped to keep the Kings in a playoff race.

King helped the Kings win two Cups.

Dwight King will be missed. He was the spark we needed in 2012.

I'll miss you Dwight. Very solid player. Wasn't what we all wished you were but a solid contributor none the less.

Anyone know how many guys were on both cup teams and how many remain? Those guys will always have a special part in Kings history. The legends night when they're all back will be epic.

I have a Dwight King jersey. I have a Dwight King avatar. Sure, part of it was the memes, but I'm a Dwight King fan.

However, if he hadn't been traded I would have expected (and supported) the Kings letting him walk as a UFA at the end of the season. We need the money for Toffoli and Pearson, and his role can be replaced with someone cheaper.

That said, I'm sorry some people couldn't separate his usage from his worth as a player. He was good for us, and seems like a good dude off the ice - he didn't deserve all the venom.
