Different sport. But I can never wrap my head around Reggie Jackson in a Baltimore Orioles jersey. His only year he played there - 1976 - in between two dynasties in Oakland and New York where he became known as Mr. October. Had a solid year there too, then signed as a free agent with the Yanks. Just looks like a photoshop.

Anyway, with hockey, who else is there................Wendel Clark played in 185 games where he was NOT a Toronto Maple Leaf. I barely have any recollection of this. I just always see his career as being a Leaf for a long time, then taking a Mario-esque breather for a season or two, then coming back for a bit, then retiring and then coming back to end his career as a Leaf. Meanwhile he scored 28 and 24 goals in seasons where he was not a Leaf. Go figure.

You mean you don't remember the mullet + porn-stache in the bleu, blanc, et rouge of les nordiques?

You would think I do, Clark wasn't a Leaf for every year from 1994-'00. And yet all I can remember about his non-Leafs career is that he had a penalty shot when he was with the Islanders in 1996 and he hit the post on it. This was back in the day on HNIC when they would update the scores of the other games in between whistles. Why I remember that, I don't know.

Clarke was never a big contributor with another team deep into the playoffs. At least with the Leafs he was on TV every Sat in Ontario.

After he was dealt to Que and played 37 games during the 94/95 season he went to NYI, where he gets dealt back to Toronto. He finished that season and the Leafs were bounced first round. The next 2 years he played less then 3/4 RS games and there were no playoffs in Toronto.

98/99 Tampa Bay, dealt from Tampa to Detroit and plays almost 80 games. Detroit loses in the second round to the Avalanche. Clarke gets 5 points with 2 goals in 10 games.

Next season he starts off in Chigaco, plays 13 games and is traded back to Toronto, total of 20 games. 6 playoff games, 1 goal, and 1 assist.

Wendel didn't get many big moments in the spring after leaving Toronto the first time.

Owen Nolan, Vancouver Canucks (2010-11, 0 regular season games played, preseason only)

and I know there's a thread for this somewhere but I went back 10 pages and I couldn't find it

Mark Recchi, #11 instead of his usual #8. 1998-99.

I think he only wore this jersey for two games.

iamjs and FerrisRox - your Recchi post wearing another number but on a team he identifies with reminded me of Adam Graves. Mark Messier joined the Rangers, game 2 of the 1991-92 season. When the Rangers opened the season in Boston, Bernie Nicholls had #9 and Graves, who just signed that off season was given uniform #11. Nicholls wound up being part of the trade to acquire Messier, opening up #9.

Adam Graves #11

This trading card has a photo of the game mentioned above.

I believe this was taken from a pre-season outdoor game in Vegas back in 1991.

Wendel Clark in the Fishsticks Jersey looks so weird

Taken from this video where he scores on a nice slapshot

12 regular season game plus 19 play-offs.

16 games + 3 Playoffs spread over two seasons.

And yes, to answer a previous comment, making fake cards is a thing.

I noticed Wendel Clark as a Red Wing was posted, so how about the rest of the forgotten Wings from between the 1998 and 2002 Cup Wins.

Does @The Pale King have any facts about Houda's second Wings tenure?

Houda only played 3 games in his second tenure there but the trade with Anaheim that brought him there is still the most recent trade between the Ducks and Red Wings. October 9th, 1998. It's been 22 years since those teams have traded players.

It was Houda to Detroit for future considerations. Does anyone know what that ended up being?

I just remember he came in around the start of the season and was supposed to be a depth guy for Adirondack. Then some injuries popped up and Bowman didn't want to use can't miss prospect Yan Golubovsky. So when Uwe Krupp went dog sledding got hurt, Houda got called up to keep a spot on the bench warm until they claimed Todd Gill off waivers a week later.

Maybe a steak dinner or Blockbuster gift card?

The Wings put him on waivers right after the trade, so it was probably the result of the Ducks putting out a feeler to see if anybody wanted him before they waived him themselves.

Hockeydb says the 1999 9th round pick and cash.

I'm not blaming you.

From my experience, Hockey Draft Pick Transactions is pretty accurate.

That leads me to believe hockeydb is wrong.

I even looked in to 2000 to see if it was a bit wrong on the year, and no trade there either. So it was probably just cash.

Although I did find that he played two games later on for the Sabres on his second tour of duty with them (I had no idea this happened).
