Stoner or Despres would be a dream come true. But see this ending in Fowler, right after signing Lindholm.

I'd be okay with taking on Despres as a Leaf fan but our cap situation isn't ideal right now with the Cowen situation up in the air.

Stoner, Fowler, Despres. Much lesser chance of Cogliano IMO.

In other news, water is wet. I'm pretty sure this has been known for quite some time.

Fowler will be a hockey trade, he won't be unloaded. Stoner or Bieksa would be what I'd consider unloading a significant contract. I'd pay a 2nd rounder or B level prospect to get either of them the hell out of Anaheim.

But that would need to be attractive to other teams, and I don't see how it would be.

Fowler to Bruins/Wings is my guess. Hopefully we get a good young forward and some cap space.

This is my thinking as well, A deal around Spooner and Fowler would shed about $3 million for the Ducks not sure who Detroit could give up that would help both Detroit and Anaheim out here Detroit would need to shed similar salary for Fowler because they're over the cap but that doesn't help Anaheim out.

Wtf. Weren't Ducks fans just making fun of Penguins fans last season for stealing Despres from them? What gives?

Honestly who the hell would want stoner?

$3.25 mil for what he brings is just awful. He should be a healthy scratch pretty much league wide and he is eating over 3 mil for the next two years

Murray needs to put a pork chop (a good pick/prospect) around Stoners neck to have any chance to move him

It'll probably be Fowler for some mediocre winger like Tatar.

For the last goddamn time. Simon Despres for Reid Boucher. Anaheim gets young, cheap, forward depth, and NJ gets a second pairing defenseman. We all know how much Shero loves his former Penguins.

Multiple concussions then admitting to trying to play in the playoffs while still symptomatic (and looking like a scrub while doing so). Also, having essentially the same cap hit as Fowler, when the team needs to dump Cap.

Stoner actually makes a good deal of sense for the Canes. They need a defender to expose in the upcoming expansion Draft as Faulk is currently their only D who qualifies. If they can pick up a good pick or prospect in the deal it could make sense to make that move now rather than at the TDL.

I don't know why teams keep excluding 14 teams by being scared of trading in-conference. Trade where you get the best value. It's only when it's a hyper competitive physical player you want to avoid it.

GMs that are afraid of monsters under the bed, not making rational decisions.
