This score is largely what people expected from the season, score a bunch, give up a bunch. This'll probably be kind of an average game this season, with some better and some worse.

So much for getting into wildcard position. :help:
A few more games like this one and we will be a cooked goose by Christmas.
Top line is so so bad right now.
Our D well....it’s been said about 2BILLION times on here. D collapse to the crease as soon as opposing forwards cross our line. I’m guessing our forwards are suppose to be back to lend support? But nope. PoMo system is either trash or the players don’t care to execute or they aren’t good enough to execute. Likely a little bit of all three.

I fear we aren’t making playoffs and not even close to the lottery.

Man, where did our depth go? We can't even ice a 6-player, NHL-level defensive roster, but we are forced to start 7 of them anyway because our forward depth is non-existent.
This started with Armia being flipped to (unnecessarily) unload a bad contract, trading Lemieux (as much of a punk as he is) and having zero foresight into the 2019-2020 season on defense. If we had managed to keep Stastny, which we certainly could have at this rate, I doubt we would look anywhere near as bad as we do. Poor roster management leads to poor results.

To be fair, we have more depth how Mo uses it is the problem.

Brutal game by Scheifele and Wheeler. Neither accomplished anything outside of Wheeler's fluke goal, brutal in the defensive end. Of course, Maurice would play them 23 minutes each while keeping them together.

They played way too much but I don't have an issue with keeping them together this game. Ehlers-Little-Roslovic was doing very well.

That's true. Heinola is one of the few bright spots on defense, but is sitting in the press box as an 18 year old. That's piss-poor usage of talent, given the trash that finds its way onto the ice instead. I can't wait for Niku, Lowsy and Laine to get back to patch this sieve.
