Pacioretty is floating for team USA doing very little.
He looks very ordinary. Torts isn't happy.

He isnt involved. He's more keen on righting the ship with the habs so yeah would make sense his mind idnt in it. But he started on the top line for his speed, size and shot and if he wants to stay there, he better show up.
In game 1 vs Can he was pretty good in the second period when he was skating.

How can you not be keen playing for your country?
Something doesn't look right with Pacioretty pretty lackluster.

While I fully expect Ducks end up signing their pair of Swedish RFAs, just for discussion:

MaxPac
Galchenyuk

for

Lindholm
Rakell

Ducks gain a true first line FW who (other than last year) plays with some physicality and obv has a knack for scoring. If the change of scenery does him well, him-Getz-Perry could easily be one of the top lines in the NHL. He's also on a bargain contract for a few more seasons.

Chucky adds a true #1 Potential C to the Ducks, who don't currently have that in the pipeline IMO for when Getz starts to slow down.

Lindholm is a huge loss, but the D still has solid depth on the left side with Fowler and Theodore for the Top4.

Montreal, definitely downgrades up front, but hope Radulov replaces a lot of MaxPac's offense while making their D core one of the better units; both pieces added are young and work for the future. Rakell isn't Galchenyuk, but he can def fill a 2nd line role and in the East, I feel he will only continue to improve and have room for his creativity.

No discussion here. Habs wouldn't even bother to return the call to say no.
Man what a bad deal for the Habs.

Oh come on your being crazy it is not like it is such a terrible offer. Lindholm and Rakell are two good pieces just politely say no thanks instead of insinuating it is a terrible offer.

Yeah, all 4 pieces are very valuable, it just doesn't really make that much sense. It's not like this deal is catastrophically bad value wise. It's just not good needs wise.

Galchenyuk >> Rakell

Pacioretty >= Lindholm

Ya it's a terrible offer for the Habs.

Lindholm is the most valuable piece in this offer but Rakell is also easily the least valuable. Either way you put it, this trade doesn't work

Pacioretty is signed for 3 seasons then is a UFA who will command a lot. Lindholm is under team control for longer just have to figure out a contract. Defenseman like Lindholm are worth a lot. Just look what Oilers had to pay to get a good young defenseman from a team that didn't have a lot of interest in trading such a defenseman now imagine what it would cost for Ducks to trade Lindholm who we don't want to trade at all.

Montreal wouldn't make the deal (just like Ducks wouldn't) but it isn't so bad that should be saying wouldn't even return the call to say no.
