Not a bad pickup. If he plays like he did in the preseason he's at best a replacement level player, but if he plays like he did at the end of last season he's a real solid fourth liner. Would have really liked to have kept him for depth, but won't lose any sleep over it. He wasn't worth much more than a nice bag of pucks.

He can skate fast, has adequate size and looks like he might be able to do something.

But then he doesn't.

He is fast but looks like he has 4 arms and 4 legs when he skates.... His body is all over the place and its extremely ineffective. Think he has what it takes to be a decent NHLer but he needs some help to figure it all out.

That guy is proof that numbers in junior aren't as important as HF thinks.

That's what I keep telling everyone!

That Patrick Kane kid and his 145 points in 58 games is going nowhere!

They're indicators, but just as any stat should never be looked at in a vacuum. Who were they playing for/with in junior? How was their size, skating? Where were they drafted to? What's their style, whose the coach? Teammates, depth? So many other factors, but junior stats usually indicates a potential.

Will be a solid addition for the Ducks' 4th line - especially if it means Boll and Raymond are on borrowed time on the NHL roster.

That guy is proof that numbers in junior aren't as important as HF thinks.
To be fair even around the time he was drafted and after his +1 year there were plenty of questions about Etem's hockey IQ and ability to be a scorer at the NHL level as he seemed overly reliant on his speed and size opposed to his skill no matter how many points he was putting up.

Both Etem and Linden Vey are prolific goal scorers. This was proven in Medicine Hat why they have not been able to convert to the NHL is a little baffling. Of course the competition was not as good but its had to believe that both should not be 20 goal guys in the NHL.

LOL, the optics of this are pretty funny :) Regardless, I think this is a decent pickup by the Ducks. He has size, speed, and is a serviceable 4th liner. As noted by another poster, he likely takes Cramarossa's spot, and he's better than Cramarossa. I do think he has the upside to be a decent 3rd liner, too.

Anaheim is at 24 active players? Must be a new injury because Cramarossa doesn't seem on waivers and i doubt Sorensen sent down.

Edit : Cramarossa is on waivers.

But they still have a player over the limit today until noon tomorrow.
