Ducks fans turning into the most baby shit soft people after decades of having one of the more physical teams in the league is pretty hilarious.
I mean I'm with them on the shit that happened with Zegras against Arizona the other day, this isn't the 70s anymore, but yeah and the irony of it being Getzlaf who was on the receiving end of this one, a guy that more than has a history of plays worse than that, isn't lost on me.

Yeah I’m not against them in that particular incident but like, have you watched your own team for the last 20 years?

I just pray none of these Ducks fans are doctors if that's where they think Getzlaf's knee is.

It's a trip. It was called a trip. I doubt Svech is going to see further discipline for a trip.

Some morning thoughts:
Domi looked very good as 4th line center
Staal happiest I’ve seen in years
Svech hit…..awesome. Going to need that against the “tough” teams (without a penalty hopefully)
Freddie: you still worry me as your play has been meh lately…That first goal was charmin soft

Big game Tuesday….

Buncha soft ass bitches in that thread. Meh, they can stay mad for all I care. Getzlaf got his panties in a bunch because Svech cleanly destroyed Shattenkirk on the boards and then tried to pick a fight and got denied. And then still couldn't let it go, tries to run Svech, only to himself end up the one getting knocked down. Just 10-ply peacocking from a player whose career is quickly coming to an end mad that the kid kept his head enough to not get sucked into his goonery.

:12-:16 looks like not knee to me.. But it's still a 2m Penalty.. just like Getzlaf's slashes..

Mayhew coming in after and slide-kicking Svech's feet out from under him is FAR more dangerous than anything else in that play. Also, love the Ducks fans saying that Svech "wouldn't answer the bell" afterwards...like dude was clipped and had his feet kicked out from under him and was on the ice and had multiple guys pounding him from there, WTF is he supposed to do to fight back there?

I think they were referring to Svech not being willing to drop the gloves on that previous faceoff... Which. Why? He laid a perfectly legal, clean hit on Shattenkirk, why is there some obligation to get into a fight because the Ducks didn't like it?

Which, I'll also say I've been impressed with Svech over the course of this season. It seems like his penalty rate is rapidly decreasing, he's not getting suckered into retaliatory penalties nearly as much as he used to, and this is during a time when he's really picking up his game physically. The only reason he got that penalty last night was because the refs had to give him something after the scrum was going on (because game management dictates not giving a 5 on 3 after that).

The more he can throw his weight around the better the team can and will be. And maybe the rest of the team can take note and start playing that way as well (I noticed that Lorentz threw some heavy hits after that, which was a little out of the norm for him, but very welcomed).

I can understand irrational fan reactions to some extent, but two things I didn't expect to see in that thread were "maybe this wouldn't have happened if he had just dropped the gloves when the other guy wanted to" and "I dare someone to try and find a clip of Getzlaf playing dirty".

Is there a gas leak in southern California?

The fact they are saying shit like that literally 8 days after completely melting down over Beagle is so astronomically hypocritical that it really is hard to believe its actively happening.

I noticed this too. I honestly think the only way Lorentz sticks in this league is by embracing this brand of physical play. Didn't have the hands or ability to finish several chances last night, was just the latest example. He is a big boy that can skate...by introducing the physical aspect he could release absolute havoc on the forecheck if he'd commit to it full time.

Lorentz has the size and strength to be an absolute wrecking ball on the forecheck and backcheck, he just needs to embrace it. If he can channel that energy for 60 mins a night over 82 games a year, it won't matter how many points he puts on the board, Brindy won't be able to remove him from the lineup, especially in a 4th line role. And if he can do that, people won't care that he's maybe getting 15 points a season.

You say that, until he inexplicably finds himself in the top 6 in an attempt to jump start one of outlr star players that have gone cold.
