Since Gibson played last night and got smoked a little to the tune of 5-1 in a loss, pretty safe bet we get to see Dostal in net for the Ducks who's been fairly lights out, at least by looking at his stats (.921 svp). The last 5 games, he's only given up two or three goals a game. This looks like it's going to be a sneakily tough game.
Dostal does have it in him to go god mode. Last season he was in net for that game against the Ducks and almost stole it all by himself, making 55 saves in a 2-1 OT loss. The Ducks went up 1-0 in the second and he proceeded to rob everything until finally JT broke through on the PP late in the third, then Matthews scored in OT.

Leafs out shot the Ducks 57-28 lol. Even with letting in two goals Dostal still posted a .965 which is crazy.

So Matthews day to day was a month
Pacioretty day to day was weeks
McMann day to day will be 2 weeks now
McCabe day to day is now a week

From now on Day to day means weeks and or months.

Maybe last year. But did you see the look on Matthews face after the OT winner the other night ?

View attachment 944008

I was surprised how intense it was. It was like Papi is pissed he missed a slew of games and wasn't playing up to his standard. That goal could be the start of something. I can see him snapping and getting back to his dominant self. No way I'd bet against Matthews right now. Not against the Ducks. I'd take the Leafs money line and Matthews to score again and get 3+ shots as a single game parlay. But I don't really care about the gambling stuff. I'm more intrigued by Matthews right now and if he can push it to another level and establish himself as a legit captain even now that he's out of the trophy races. Matthews has another level in him we haven't seen yet and I think this OT goal was a glimpse of it.
This is why I keep the faith in him, especially when he plays an engaged two way game. He cares. He is serious about winning. He must place a great deal of pressure on himself which is great as it mirrors the fans desperation to see a winner in T.O

When he scores a big goal like that it is a relief because that which he knows he CAN do at any given moment, a truth that literally only a handful of players in this league can honestly say is true for them; he DID do.

Not only did he score, but watch how he deftly lumber to the goal after a hard skate to beat the NJ player by a hair, using his size he knows he can leverage to protect the rolling puck so he will at least get the shot off that he wants.

I still don't know how the puck passed centre ice off of Stolarz blocker stop. Did he use his stick to get it out? I've never seen a puck go past centre ice off of a blocker save.

They said from the outset that Pacioretty was going to miss an extended period of time. McCabe has been out several days, so that seems like day to day to me.

The QC

Surprised Stolarz getting the start, not that he doesn't deserve it, but I'd rather they stick with the rotation.

I'd love this if they flipped 16 and 88. As it is, it's still pretty good.

Reaves must track down Gudas and then bask in the sun for the rest of the season.

Day to day means they are evaluated daily.

Very unwatchable of late. Boring, no offence, no pressure.

Bottom 6 is horrendous. The top lines have doing jack shit.

wake up

People either like to complain, or seem to have unrealistic expectations of what players are, what you expect lower in the lineup, or what players are paid.

Domi is our 6th TOI forward. In Florida that guy makes $4.425 mil. In Edmonton that guy makes $3 mil. In Colorado that guy makes $5.75 mil. Our guy makes $3.75 mil. This isn't egregious.

All the complainers out complaining.. this team needs to win a couple of games, so that they go hide under the bridge for a while..

Not sure about how those comparable's you've listed are doing but Domi has 6 points in 20 games and I believe pointless in the last 14.
Is that what we should expect?
