It's just too bad we didn't have Adam da bomb around to tell us to just wait 160 games for Stanley to blossom into an NHLer. It's been, what, 3 good games in a row now, so I guess we can finally put the Stanley hate to rest and get out some steaming bowls of crow!
If only Adam had been there to predict that Ehlers would plummet to 2nd on the team in 5v5 p/60 instead of 1st (as he has for every one of the past 5 seasons). How art the mighty fallen!
Or to see clearly the future where Kyle Connor, after nearly a decade of total defensive disinterest, would suddenly decide to make an effort in the Dzone. How did we not see that coming? The answer is, we just don't have Adam's vision...
Also, to be fair, I think what we heard is that Connor and Scheifele are about breakeven at 5v5...but they're +4 this year after 40 games, so I guess that's all out the window. But who did we hear this from in the first place? Oh, a huge sample of actual results. Well, just goes to show you...you can say anything with statistics!
And hey, maybe Heinola just needs 113 more games before he turns into the next Logan Stanley!
