Perfetti is a player I’m pretty conflicted on. He is an honest hardworking player that plays a smart game, but I’ve gradually been dropping my expectations on what type of player he will become. I just don’t think he plays with enough speed to be the PPG player I thought he’d be. He will be a good middle 6 winger. Probably in the 50 - 55 point range. Still good value.
He just turned 23 (yesterday i think) - he needs more time IMO.
He'll likely always be a slower player - but when you combine it with a lack of size / strength, it's a tough hill to climb for a younger player.
He should get stronger with age - not sure he'll get much faster with his skating mechanics.
This might sound nuts, but I'd put him back in the middle for a few games - let him dish if off to the wingers off the rush.
He gets stood up a lot on the way in - maybe he needs to be the guy that's the high option once they gain the zone (they being Ehlers).
Let him set up from there - that's supposed to be his strength.

At the other end, the line will need to help out defensively - pretty much like they do now.

I like that thinking, but we either need to move Nino up or maybe bring up a player like Lambert that has more speed.

1 ) You need to calm down bro jesus christ

I think you may want to do some self-reflection, before you tell others to calm down. Did Hellebuyck not play a good game? Probably. Even Hasek had off nights.

The problem is, you have wanted Hellebuyck gone since 2018, when you blamed him for the Jets getting knocked out of the playoffs, when they reached the Conference Finals.

Then you blamed him for the 2019 loss to St.Louis.

Then in 2019-20, you openly stated that the Jets would be better off without him- in his Vezina season.

If anyone else is critical of helle's play, so be it. I don't get your irrational hatred for the guy.
2) Yes, he was the biggest reason the Jets lost tonight

You have said that about Hellebuyck at least 100 times, including every single time the Jets have lost in the playoffs. It's always hellebuyck's fault.
3) I dont hate him, and you probably know that by now but are choosing instead to try and score cheap likes

Many others have called you out, starting in early 2020, when Helle was lights out, and you kept insisting that he was hurting the team.

Snake Tips sounds like a guy who has been playing and coaching for decades..
He may know more about tabletop hockey and online hockey apps than all of us put together. He may also be skilled at fishing a weighted lure at several knots behind the boat..What’s that called again?View attachment 955272
I don't think I've ever put a poster with 13 total posts on ignore before.

Jets need to solve their 2nd "scoring" line. Namestnikov is a bad fit and his lack of offensive instincts and skill are showing. Ehlers and Perfetti could use a bigger and faster and more talented linemates. They absolutely need more secondary scoring from that line.

Stanley was okay for most of the game but then misses the puck and it ends up in a late tying goal. Jets really need Samberg back.

In the third period they put Lowry between Ehlers and Perfetti and the line created a lot and had great zone time. I wonder if you see that again next game? Lowry is essentially the 2c and he adds size and has underrated offensive ability.

What is Ehlers line out with 2 minutes left?
Ehler was out with Lowry and Perfetti, both of whom are good defensively.

Everything was good until they had possession through the neutral zone and upon entry Ehlers threw a wild cross ice pass at the blue line that turned the puck over instead of getting it deep.

Thems the breaks but seriously there should have been a penalty on Gibson for knocking the net off that was BS his team was tried and Jets had possession
Not to mention Perfetti was pushed into the net so it should have been blown dead. Gives the opponent the opportunity to attack full out knowing that it would be blown dead when the Jets touched the puck. Hell they could have pulled their goalie, it's been done before.

We were the much better team. Hellebuyck cost us the win. How many times over the years has that been reversed? Helle is allowed an off night. Need to get back on the W train next game though.

Well I read through 4 pages.

I read that Perfetti sucks, Namestnikov rang one off the bar, but he sucks and can't shoot.

Ehlers carrying that line.

Here's what I saw:

2-0 Ehlers does a fly by in the neutral zone to give the Ducks speed with zone entry, ends up in the back of the net.

3-2 lead and Ehlers, with under 2 minutes to go, numbers, and minimal pressure, instead of doing what any of the other 3 lines would have done, and put the puck in deep, and kill time, and work the defense, decides to make a cross seam pass that not only changes the zone time, but the possession on a shift that just went south from there. I thought that was a bone head play. Honestly.

It was interesting move to put Lowry between Ehlers-Perfetti. Not sure the rationale. Of course Lowry is on his regular line, after an early line change by Namestnikov, that leads to the go ahead goal. Gets out with Ehlers and Perfetti in a defensive situation and it's a breakdown.

I am not sure why Namestnikov was moved off that line, did Arniel offer any explanation? 1st period I thought I saw Perfetti playing a lot of what was effectively C, being in the middle of the ice for zone entries, and low in the d-zone for support. On the 2-1 goal he was clearly playing wing, so it's obviously rotation. Namestnikov ending up on a line with natural wingers, that he can't take faceoffs on, was a curious decision.

Top guns had a good battle level.

I liked the 4th line's game. Simple and hard nosed.

I thought Stan had a good game until the fateful puck battle at the end. Pionk was a little more erratic.

Ville showed some nice wheels on the tracking of Killorn? early in the game to prevent an odd man rush chance. But he wasn't great with the puck. Some decent d to d puck movement. Didn't really notice a lot from him.

I guess Hellebuyck wanted win 300 against Detroit. He wasn't himself tonight.

Missed watching the Jets game as I was watching the Team Canada debacle instead. Yager showed well thank goodness.

What did I miss?

Helle stunk?
Perfetti and Names bringing Ehlers down?
Stan was ok but had another costly blunder?
Iafallo likes playing with Nino and Lowry?

The sky is falling but only very specifically for certain players.

Team needs more 5v5 production. Deadsmack in the middle of the league for scoring 5v5/game. Pretty mid in shots, scoring chances, xGF etc.

Nice having that PP compared to last years for the playoffs but need a bit more 5v5.

That amazing Powerplay is masking a lack of offensive punch at 5v5. Only Connor is scoring at a great rate, even Ehlers hasn't been up to par.

Jets could use a 2C solution for a few years that's not a rental, hope Lambert or Yager are there to take over after. Maybe a rental with an extra year this year?

I really hope it's not another straight rental.

Look in the mirror, pal. There's a lot of projection going on. The game before, I called him Vezinabuyck because he played great. Last night, he played like horseshit. I called it as I saw it. He was the biggest reason we lost.

If you can't handle me criticizing him after he sucks just put me on ignore instead of derailing a thread. I still find it amazing that the admins allow this horseshit to go on. You didn't say that, "I thought he played great." You didn't disagree with me. You simply went off on this ridiculous tangent, how I hate the guy. It's absolute trash and makes this forum so difficult to navigate and read.
