Well that's 0-3 in back to back now. Tough break for Comrie.

I thought Pionk played 59 1/2 minutes of good puck management. Bad time for a giveaway.

Jets PP was the only bright spot in their 8 shots 2 period effort.

3rd period started off with more jump and urgency. I thought they would lock it down after KC and Scheif put them ahead.

But they didn't.

PP looked flat with a chance to win the game. Other than Ehlers pass on the 1st goal hard to say he was better than Perfetti has been of late on the PP.

The effectiveness of Namestnikov as a 2C is starting to wane as that's back to back games he's been on for one against.

I thought Stan played a decent game and Morrissey is carrying the defense right now. Penalty kill was good.

It was funny because I kept flicking over to Canucks game during commercials and they started off the same way as Jets. No shots. Got a goal in their first 8 shots. Blew a lead. They got a point at least and the Jets deserved 1 too.

Next two games are going to take a better effort than the ones the Jets put in on their California vacation.
I thought kc was solid all game. He made an amazing pass to Morrissey for our only chance in 1st period.
Their 2nd goal was because schief can’t win a face off.

Why the hell is the TO game at 1pm on Monday?

My guess.... Prime. They have exclusive coverage for national games in Canada on Mondays. and if the Leafs home game was to start at it's normal time of 7:00PM ET, it would overlap with Prime's game at 9:00PM ET ( Sharks at Canucks ), and we can't have that. So they had to move the Leafs game up so it would be over and all those Leaf fans would be able to watch the Canucks game..

This is true, but it's a real problem when he plays 65 games a year and is then middling in the playoffs.
But, I think it speaks to the fact ppl say goaltending is voodoo or the hot goalie thing as Helly is pretty darn consisten year after year. Load management is a real thing.

Bin this one and get ready for the Wild which is a way more important divisional game. Wild play Utah who are the hottest team in the division the night before so the Jets need to be ready from the drop of the puck and take advantage of a probably tired Wild team
Come on players don't get tired.......

Game is scheduled for Broadcast on TSN Jets according the the Bell TV Guide so Prime does takes priority I guess

Having a 1 goal lead with 5 minutes to play and not leaving with at least a point is pretty poor. It's a back to back on the west coast, but it's also against a team at the bottom of the standings and they come out completely flat.

Thought Connor played well. Nice hustle and his entire shift for the 2nd goal was elite. Great 1 timer by Scheifele as well.

Terrible decision by Pionk to try a pass towards the middle of the ice with seconds left on the clock. Off the glass in that scenario would seem to be the play.

Really feeling for Comrie. It feels like everytime he plays he having to stand on his head, and he's making acrobatic saves to keep the team in it. But they seem to reserve poor showings for him and give him bot very much support.

At least he can cheer himself up with a Jenna Rae cupcake or is that Hutchinson?

Colorado won the cup with a bad goalie. They outplayed their deficiency. It's always nice to have a hot goalie but you can't count on that. It's unreliable. Your system and regular play should not be. The Jets have been unreliable there, for years.

Special teams are special teams, goalies don't affect shit on defense except saves because they're not defensemen, they're goalies. They can't limit the number of shots from the point, or slot shots.
So why did Colorado trade Georgiev?

Plenty of mid teams won cups with good goalies

And "goalies dont affect shit on defense" is the dumbest thing i think I've seen on here... which says A LOT. The definition of defence is keeping the puck out of the net - (remember, they're defending their goal - and the goalie is quite literally "tending" it). He's the most important defender, most important penalty killer, etc

Why did this dude pick out our last 18 games ? Is that because we won the 7 previous games? We are 5-2-1 in our last 7 , now it sounds good.
Exactly!
Pick any team and I can show you a bad streak of losses. Stanley Cup champs got shutout B2B games last week. They also lost 3 straight in the SC final but were still able to win the Cup.
Pop quiz: Name the last team that went 82-0 and won the cup?

Completely agree about Comrie. He's doing everything you could ask of a backup goalie, making quality start after quality start and the Jets crap the bed in front of him almost every time.

Since Pionk caused the loss yesterday, I might as well pile on.

Pionk has been over 50% xGF% twice since the Nashville game after having been over 50% xGF% 13 times before then. Over those 14 games, his xGF% is 35.6%.

Not great. Quite awful, in fact.

1. Please come back, Samberg.
2. Don't spend money re-signing Pionk.

Trouble with Pionk is that you never know if you are getting:
Neil Jeckle....or Mr. Hyde

Before the season started a lot of you did said Comrie playing would be a Jets loss … the sad part you were right. The crazy part is Comrie is not the reason why the Jets lost 5 straight now with him in the net.

It's because our 15-1 run ended 18 games ago. It's not a reasonable number of games to choose, because nothing in particular happened on game 17 of the season. We just happened to lose that game. But that's the reason why.

The 24-4 pairing is going to be a problem.
That play happens no matter who his partner is, and he was overzealously trying to fire the puck out of the zone when he could've made a different play, it was a bad luck event that was too risky at that time.

Samberg has delivered way worse in triple overtime and playoff games, where he put the puck right on the goal scorers sticks. It happens. That game shouldn't have been tied with 24 seconds left.

There is an old saying in boxing "never leave it to the judges"
