Ouch..... Jets didn't look like they deserve to win it.
But game winning goal against at the end of the game, always suck....

We suck at back to back this year.
Are they anymore back to back games left?

LET GO JETS!!! GO JETS GO

This team needs to find a way to start the game on time, waiting till the third to play to win is a tough way to make a living. We don't seem to be getting anything out of the 4th line, the 3rd does what it can and the second doesn't accomplish much. Top line tries to carry this team but they can only do so much. Having said that and for all the faults this team may have they've been and still are in first overall. Nobody would have thought or expected that by the Christmas break they would be first or close to first overall. Sometimes this team looks like dogshit but you can't deny them their record.

It's becoming evident that this team needs a 2nd line second line centre and a top 4 d man. Unfortunately I don't think the Jets will be able to fix this problem during the season. Sure we can dream up trades and players that we would like to see here but in reality those players are not coming here. I wanna see a long term fix not a rental so it looks like we got what we got, lets see how far what we got takes us.

I think re 4th line, we can't expect for it be good each game. They are the 4th line. Specially on road games (line match ups).
But at the same time, its the line that you can do the most experiment asap on when they are not going a few games in a row. It should be easier to replace players and sit one in the press box,.

Well that's 0-3 in back to back now. Tough break for Comrie.

I thought Pionk played 59 1/2 minutes of good puck management. Bad time for a giveaway.

Jets PP was the only bright spot in their 8 shots 2 period effort.

3rd period started off with more jump and urgency. I thought they would lock it down after KC and Scheif put them ahead.

But they didn't.

PP looked flat with a chance to win the game. Other than Ehlers pass on the 1st goal hard to say he was better than Perfetti has been of late on the PP.

The effectiveness of Namestnikov as a 2C is starting to wane as that's back to back games he's been on for one against.

I thought Stan played a decent game and Morrissey is carrying the defense right now. Penalty kill was good.

It was funny because I kept flicking over to Canucks game during commercials and they started off the same way as Jets. No shots. Got a goal in their first 8 shots. Blew a lead. They got a point at least and the Jets deserved 1 too.

Next two games are going to take a better effort than the ones the Jets put in on their California vacation.

Real hockey starts after Christmas . It is not for the faint of heart. I fear they could be frauds.

I'm not making excuses the Jets played bad and still had a shot at winning the game at the end.
I'm not worried right now .... the Jets have played the most road games in the league and also have the most wins (tied) on the road and if you can win on the road you have a good team.
This not starting the game on time is strange ... is it because their games seems like are always starting at different times?
I know players have a routine with eating and sleeping on game days.
Sharks game starts at 7:30 and the next day the Ducks game starts at 7 that's less than 24 hours 2 games
It make more sense the Sharks starting at 7 and the next day Ducks game starts at 7:30.
That second line needs a finisher they get chances every game just can't put the puck into the net ... they need a power forward who can go to the net and get a greasy goal.
Also the Jets are missing a tough defenseman someone you can block out forwards. The first 2 Duck goals were deflections ... the 2nd goal had 2 deflections.
Jets only 12 hits tonight too .... that's not going to win you too many playoff hockey games.
I think mother trips needs to be cancelled ... their boys play bad hockey when they are there.

I said without Hellebuyck, they are not a playoff team. However, keep arguing that nothing is wrong. I see the exact same scenario playing out for the third year in a row.

I doubt Edmonton makes the playoffs without McDavid. What happens to Tampa without Kucherov? Not sure the Devils make the playoffs without Jack Hughes. Toronto probably doesn’t make the playoff without Matthew’s. Helleybuyck is a superstar up in the top 10 impact players in the NHL and I agree we probably don’t make the playoff without him. The good news is we do have him.

I expect the team to do better after the new year.
If I'm not mistaken, they start off the new year with 8 at home.
They miss Sammy big time and Ehlers getting back should help immensely.

I feel sorry for Comrie because he has some losses that he doesn't deserve.

We can bitch about Scheif/Connor all we want, but where would we be without them?

Why the hell is the TO game at 1pm on Monday?

Just broke my sobriety streak (it was very long) because I felt depressed watching this game.
Pray for me to get back on the wagon; sorry for burdening you lot with this depressing news, but I had to own up to someone. Go jets go.

Pro tip for people trying to get sober: small changes in emotion can bite you in the ass when you least expect.

Hope you get back on the wagon, lots of things are way bigger than hockey. :thumbu:

Haven't even had a chance to see the highlights yet. There are no easy games but losses against these bottom tier teams got me thinking. So I looked at the last 20 games, which still includes a couple of wins from our record start.

We are a .500 team wins and losses in our last 20 games.

Good thing we rocketed out of the gate to bank a big block of points.

This team would not even be in a playoff position, if it was not for Hellebuyck. If the team does not make changes, Helle will be burnt out in by the playoffs, and we will lose in the first round again.
Hellebuyck has stopped 18 more goals than expected (Moneypuck). A literally average goalie there instead and we’re only down 6-7 points in the standings. Still a central seed (#3)

He’s big but let’s not forget we still have a +36 goal differential and are still first overall.

The way that loss stings can’t be denied, except maybe for the whole “that’s what you get for playing like shit” feeling.

Helly is always hot and one of the best in league. That’s not enough just like Mcdavid or mackinnon isn’t enough, but, I’d argue Helly in regular season has been just as consistent. Helly outplays our deficiencies problem is we have so many.

This is true, but it's a real problem when he plays 65 games a year and is then middling in the playoffs.
