Agreed but too early. The new coach next year will try him next season on different lines and hopefully he rebounds. The next GM will have to deal with this contract next offseason if it fails.

The buyout is much worse in 2025, taking up an extra million dollars of cap space for the next 12 seasons. It has to be done this summer.

I really think (and hope) there's some truth to the Boston rumor.

Remember, the Bruins traded for Pavel Zacha. He's basically the same prototype as PLD. Gives you an idea of what type of player they like in terms of attributes. It's no secret the need a prime age center.
