This should have started at least 2 seasons ago before extending everyone and even trading for EK. It's sad but the only one that knew was GMJR that wanted to move Letang and was told no!

It's hard to compare both teams though, the Caps for the most part kept their picks along the way while the Pens gave them up like candy on Halloween.
If JR accepts and wants to rebuild your team is far beyond the expiration date.

Dubas (along with Conroy and Guerin) were at the Sabre/Habs game yesterday.

A lot of our current predicament is due to JR hemorrhaging assets while bringing in guys who didn’t fit.

Nobody knows exactly why he rage quit but I think he was not happy with how much influence Sullivan was having over the roster and organization as a whole. I don’t think he wanted to rebuild, though.

As a Leaf fan think he ruined that team caving in to players starting with the Nylander holdout. The contracts he handed out to young 3 without any playoff success was a mistake. Failure in Pitts as well.

Dubas is doing Team Canada and I think Guerin is doing Team USA, isn't he? So scouting those two teams makes sense I guess.

Or, as I suggest on the Habs board, it could be Dubas wanting to send Jarry to Montreal but having to take back a similar contract like Gallagher or Anderson. So he could be scouting either to see if they would provide any net positive.

I can't believe that it's gotten this bad. A team with Crosby, Malkin, Letang, Karlsson shouldn't be struggling like this.

I think the biggest fault in all of this is how Dubas blew it with the goaltending. Committing to Jarry was a colossal mistake, and the team can't get any kind of groove when the backbone lets them down constantly.

Dubas has many faults, and they're being talked about all over. But his mishandling of the goaltending position is the biggest in my opinion. He was bad at judging goalies during his time with Toronto, jumping on the goalie caroucel and bungling the backup job. It's a massive fault.

Let’s not forget that Dubas netted zero A level assets and also saddled the team with yet another negative value contract in Bunting while trading away the most valuable asset that we will have in this rebuild in Guentzel.

So those hoping to trade for anyone on this roster, offer low.
Its insane so many pens fans backed this trade and even more insane some people still say it was a good trade today

It's because it's a bunch of Leafs fans with a massive bitter ex syndrome.
Nah, its just funny seeing the self-proclaimed boy wonder completely crater an entire team to the bottom of the league standings in not even 2 years while he was under the impression to try and stay competitive.

Meanwhile a team like Washington is doing what they're doing.

Crosby has earned the right to completely dictate whether any conversation takes place about his availability. It goes beyond contract clauses or anything like that, but rather just the morally right way to treat a legend who has been so loyal and monumentally important to the sports scene in your city.

If you think it's Dubas' moves that has caused the cratering of the Penguins, you haven't been paying attention to them.

And I'm someone who thinks Dubas has done a bad job with the Penguins.
