This has EVERYTHING to do with politics. Why is he being given the fast track due to his skin colour? Is this not a land of equal opportunity? I feel sorry for the others that have to work their way up instead of getting things handed to them on a platter. Let him work his way through the minors like everyone else and let the best person win the job. Are the Leafs the poster child for reverse discrimination? Choosing people for a job based on skin colour is very un-Canadian!

At least until very recently, corporate boardrooms prove hiring based on skin colour has been very Canadian.

No it really hasn’t. It relates to hockey and the growth of the game. These conversations are important. They aren’t comfortable and they aren’t meant to be.

They are uncomfortable because this method of dealing with what Americans call racism is wrong and does not work. For many years Affirmative Action and such nonsense programs and laws drove wedges between neighbour's (neighbors). It is impossible to settle these situations and still allow, legal all black colleges, all black organization as if the skin color of black is more important than brown or other shades. The wedge gets bigger.
Out reach programs need not be colour based.
So F246, open your eyes to the possibility that better ways of equality for all exists and that just because America does it does not make it right. So far it has failed miserably below the 49th and bleeding that crapola north is failing to.

Some Canadians can be somewhat racist, but mostly it is economic related. This is a far bigger melting pot than the US. It is often people like you, demanding to be different and special which creates problems of equality. Like having an out reach program you defend that hires a non Canadian into a situation where many Canadians, black, brown, white or others are ready willing and able. I do not give a flying fig if 1 black American ever gets a job. But I do care that any Canadian, black, brown, white or other is ignored to support a flippin American agenda and their failed bs history. I spent enough time there to know how people feel inside about such forced government programs.

I spent more than 20 years involved in US programs like Affirmative action. I likely know more than you, both the implementation and results. Don't think because of your skin colour others are less knowledgeable or sensitive. You have views that all whites do not know what you see, think or may have experienced. If you think I do not know you, you do not know me.
You are insensitive to Canadians unless they are black. You are the ignorant one. Don't wear your skin colour like a crown of thorns, it stops progress and gives you an excuse for your own failures.
The only general knowledge is your own colour, there is more to know than colour if issues are to be solved. The Americans have failed. If you like them so much, join them.
