Quinn is definitely getting fired. Owner wants a change of direction, promoting the assistant GM and keeping the coach isn't that.Quinn is Drury's boy.
That would be a first in President/GM history.Lets be serious.
Drury is not running this team
I think that was just speculation the press release from dolan said they are not interviewing candidates for presidentIs it true that Dolan wants Messier as president? Someone said the Post mentioned that.
Lets be serious.
Drury is not running this team
then who is?
Lets be serious.

I think that we have all been talking about it for a while.
Moving some of the surplus of youth tjat we have to address the roster holes.
Where JG may have hesitated, I think Drury may be a little more bold. Not so much in over paying for the wrong guy, but actually making a deal to sort of officially putting his stamp on the team.
Where I would keep Chytil, I could see him gone.
Same with Lundkvist as well.
I do hope they reverse the dumb decision to exile TDA. I'm not blaming anyone but him, but hes basically been suspended for a year (while getting paid)
I'm not shitting on this as much as I don't like Drury.
I'm gonna wait to see what we see
My concern isn't with Drury being GM/President. As shocking and as much as I disagree with this random firing of Gorton and JD, Drury was a contributor in building towards this as well so I don't think he'd go and blow things up himself and I think he's more than capable to take on the role. My concern, as always with any Madison Square Garden team, is Dolan meddling in things he has no clue about and either forcing moves or becoming de facto GM like Jeff Wilpon. My hope is he won't and I'm hoping with Sather aiding the transition that he acts as that "buffer" to hockey ops, the same way he did when he was here as GM and president before he stepped down.
I just don't see it with Dolan. I don't think he gives a shit about hockey.
I think this was a pissing match behind the scenes..
That's my hope too but there's also nothing stopping Dolan from pressuring his hockey ops people and demanding results quickly which then leads to bad moves. I don't doubt something happened behind the scenes but everything that's come out so far is he expected a playoff team and didn't get one.

This is an easy one... just trade for McDavidI don't know what to think of Drury. On the one hand you hear about him as a rising star. On the other hand, his big moment in the spotlight for Team USA wasn't exactly a glowing performance.
I think he might be bolder, the question is at what cost. Whereas Kakko was off the table, is he willing to go that direction?
Does he feel the need to impress his new benefactor and make a trade to appease him?
It's an unknown right now. But it feels like an unknown in a strange situation that doesn't necessarily do Drury, or anyone, any real favors.
