haha good one! thanks for the laughs.

I'd easily keep him if all we could get is a 2nd rd pick let alone retaining on him.Jost isn't a bad contract. It's pretty much the going rate for a player like him.
Thanks for the reply. To me a 2nd would be steep for him unless there's significant retention.
I’m sure random posters on HFBoards would knowHow is his mental health?

Lol hell noI know Drouin's reputation.
But frankly, I've been seeing him play for 5 seasons now and he's not as bad as some others teams fans say he is.
He can't be a leader you rely on, can't be the guy to take too much pressure neither, a thing he had in MTL being a francophone acquired for a young blue chip defenseman who developed well in TB.
But if he'd be relied on to be a good complementary offensive guy, playing alongside dominant offensives players, he could be an astute acquisition for relatively cheap.
He always been a playoff guy, producing 21 pts in the last 27 playoff games he played in.
I think he could be a good addition for a team actually in the playoff but lacking offensive power
I'm realistic, he won't fetch something big, I expect Habs to ask for good (not great) prospects.
An example from LA Kings:
Jordan Spence + Martin Chromiak

Probably a turd. I mean a third (no joke) would get Gorton thinking.Just out of curiosity what would Montreal be looking to get for Drouin at 50% retained in the offseason?
Maybe Alfie Turcotte.Turcotte? Would love to get him reunited with Cole
Prob better than Batherson physical health
On what planet does Drouin get you Turcotte?Turcotte? Would love to get him reunited with Cole
Hawks are probably heading towards a rebuild here, So why would they want Drouin?Brett Connolly + TB 2023 2nd + CHI 6th 2022

Who says no?
He's young-ish and could be part of it. But realistically, you are probably right.Hawks are probably heading towards a rebuild here, So why would they want Drouin?
Hard to tell what his value is.
Players of his type (lots of offense, but not much of anything else) tend to not be valued a lot in the league. Hall and Buchnevich were traded for a 2nd+. So I would assume his value would be a 2nd round pick. He does have a track record of producing in the playoffs, which should interest playoff teams.
Probably both teams. Hawks are in no mans land and the Habs are better off sticking with drouin.Brett Connolly + TB 2023 2nd + CHI 6th 2022
