Klingberg, Walman, Stetcher
Stetcher is a perfect pairing for Nurse.
Klingberg and Walman together is like Cagney & Lacey, Hall & Oates, Willie & Waylon, Carson & McMahon.
One thing I notice about our D is they can all pass
Walman is signed for 1 more year at 3.4. Klingberg is a UFA. I would like to have both of them back. I never wanna go thru that dark decade of that terrible defence we had. It was the worst.
Nuge and Hyman are/were playing Conn Smythe like

Been an Oilers fan since 79-80 but this is one of the teams I have most love for, So many stories. Man I wanna win this cup this year. Shut up all the haters with a big STFU. When Conner picks up cup, I know he would hand it off to Drai first. Drai to Nuge. I sure hope they get Hyman it pretty quick. U gotta figure he is heartbroken. He is a HUGE part of this team
I think it would be Connor to Nuge to Leon but it could go either way. Let’s just get through tonight injury free and rest up for the rematch.

agreed
no more injuries
I wanna be out there when they win it so hopefully they can pass it to me as well. I actually had the stanley cup over the head here in my home town. Couple fellas from here won

They aren't dropping like flies. Connor Brown and elkolm will be back very shortly. Only loss is hyman and we will miss him but we can go forward and not miss a beat. Maybe jeff skinner steps in and is hungry to show what he can do in playoffs. We have options
They actually have been dropping like flies. Fortunately, only one of them has been swatted hard enough to be out of permanent action going forward. The others will soon be back, as you say, and ready to fly around and shit on the Panthers.

I would go 11-7 because it’s one game. Shuffle McDrai and get the series in the bag and get a good rest before the finals. Doesn’t really matter if you run them ragged. You win this game you don’t play till Wednesday.
When you add a guy who is as good as the Viking then you can't really go wrong.

I don't think they'd seriously consider 11-7 long term and through the finals. If they did it, it would only be a game or two to ensure Ekholm can play the required minutes. That said, lining up Stetcher as a RW isn't a terrible idea as you can make up some set lines but if something goes sideways on the backend he can quickly slip back. His style of game might actually translate decently to a
The 11-7 would be for 1 game only, just to make sure Ekholm can get through a game. If he gets through it okay you take Stetcher out and add whomever the 12th forward is going to be. If he can’t then you take out Ekholm again and add whomever that 12th forward is going to be. Worst case scenario you lose tonight and still have a 3-2 series lead coming back home. It’s not the end of the world. It would be a tougher decision is the series was tied at 2 or if we were the ones trailing 3-1 but we’re not so we have some flexibility tonight.

Good thing everybody is exactly the same.
I didn't say everyone is the same.

People are dismissing Skinner's game as not being fit for the playoffs. It's not that wild to think that a veteran like him knows what he has to do to earn a spot and will play differently if given the opportunity. Like I showed, he already leads the team in hits/60 from the one game he played.

He was also on the ice for 3 goals against and was a team worst -2 in only 11:12 of ice time. That’s what I’m worried about with him. This was what we got from a veteran trying to earn a spot that game.

I’m not saying he shouldn’t get another chance. If Knoblach puts him in I’ll respect his decision. He’s got a better understanding of what Skinner is capable of bringing to a game than anybody here does. I’m just saying there are big risks associated with Skinner and heading into the finals (hopefully) I’d prefer a safer option.

No. They were dropping like flies near end last month of regular season but not at all now. Hyman is a big loss. Brown be back soon and ekolm back tonight. Everyone healthy but Hyman. Dropping like flies does not apply to these playoffs

I was born in 1994 and was 11 when 06 happened so not quite in my teens. That run made me a hard-core fan and I never really cared for hockey before that. I swear the city was even crazier back then than it is now. Maybe that team got more love for being underdogs. That whole 06 run felt like a cultural experience for me. I had never experienced anything like it before. The 80s really must of been something to behold. It's awesome that you older fans got to witness all of that. I can't possibly imagine living to see 5 cup championships nevermind 1!
Your getting another chance. Lets beat Florida this time!

I'm the most surprised by Nuge.

The playoffs are hard for slight guys but he's figured it out this year. He is making an impact on every game and I didn't think he would ever be able to get inside like this, in these type of games.

Maybe a cautionary tale for leaf fans lol

I'm a 94er as well haha. I remember being in Whyte Ave during the finals, and it took us ages to drive out of there with my family since it was crazy there. I hope we win the stanley cup this finals. Seeing all of that energy and happiness zapped out of the whole city when I was leaving Rogers Place after G7 last year was dreadful and depressing. Whether it was fans just standing still, sitting on the curbs in disbelief or laying down on the concrete, I hope to see the exact opposite this time. This city deserves a Stanley cup. Bring it home where it belongs, Oilers.

A 200lb body - even on a missed hit - hits exponentially harder. From a hockey perspective, Skinner's hits/60 is meaningless. He doesn't skate fast enough, or weigh enough, to draw attention unless he has the puck. When Kane is on the ice, the opposition is hyper aware at all times, so hits/60 is not a valuable measurement of hockey. One Kane hit is worth more, in the period, the game, the series.

Skinner can create space and score goals - the hardest things to do - but he's not hard to play against. When Deboer was asked why the Oilers dominated, he said we were harder to play against than last year.

Jeff Skinner is listed at exactly 200 lbs on NHL.com.

Enough talk about who gets the cup first, second, third, etc. Way too premature.

Now, more importantly, where do you guys think the parade route runs through? Might be tough downtown with all the construction, so I'd suggest Millwoods Road. :D

Too close to @Drivesaitl We could do like Tampa and do a boat parade but down the North Sask.

You do know that Skinner weighs 200lbs? He's not a small guy, even if he is not so tall. Nor is it true that force varies exponentially with mass. No one will argue that he is a bruiser, but he is not soft player either.

Considering nearly all of his goals are scored within a 5 foot radius of the net, I'd say he goes to the tough areas to score as well.

I watched many of Skinner's games when he was a junior. Here is the key paragraph from one of his draft previews:
This is not to say that Skinner does not deserve to be considered as a first round talent. His offensive ability is uncanny and is a very dominant player in the offensive zone. With a wicked wrist shot, and quick release Skinner is able to deceive opposing goaltenders, and make them pay for leaving even an inch open. His determination and competiveness level are two attributes that really offset his size disadvantage. He never appears to back away from physical play and is willing to compete for every inch of ice. Playing with a team that was not supposed to make a large post-season run, Skinner brought his play to another level, finishing the playoffs with 33-points only behind Taylor Hall. 20 of his 33-points were in the goal column, tying Adam Henrique for the OHL playoff goal scoring race.
The bolded perfectly describes the player I saw. In the NHL he has had some significant injuries including concussions. But he has never been shy about going to the tough places. I don't know where the idea that he is a soft player comes from.
