About what I expected today. Maybe Stafford finds some touch again here. 6th round conditional, I'm OK with that too

I'm pretty negative with many things the Bruins do but how can people complain about a 6th round pick?

Because it's the "Hockey Future" board and every sixth round pick is a chance to grab your 18 year old binky who's the ninth defenseman on some team in Kazakhstan over a guy who's in the NHL.

Hayes 82 game pace = 8.5 points
Stafford 82 game pace = 26.6 points

But yea, same thing.

Inb4 this was made to replace Jimmy Hayes, but only because they want to give Jimmy an increased role.

I'm always fine with these types of moves. Low risk with Stafford's contract expiring, and you can always hope to catch lightning in a bottle if he clicks with a player/line (I'm assuming he'll be put with Spooner). He's does have the ability to put the puck in the net.

He's been better though.

I've watched all the Jets games and I've hated his game. Can't remember any good plays he's made this season.
I said few months ago the end up with Stafford and nothing else, well it happened :(

The talked about Stafford early on Sportsnet, basically saying that because Winnipeg has a lot of right-shot talent, and the addition of Laine, Stafford lost his spot a little bit, and why his numbers are down this year.

but thats assuming they move out Hayes. Until I see the written lineup for the next game that has Hayes out and Stafford in then I am worried they take the rookie out instead.

Yea good point. With Claude gone, I'm a little less worried about it though.

He performed well for Winnipeg when they acquired him at the TDL in 2015.

9-10-19p in 26 games and 1-1-2 in 4 games in the playoffs.

He's always been streaky offensively. Hopefully he's got one more hot streak left in him.

Meh, I didn't want to go shopping in the reduced bin. However, for a 6th round pick? ok let's roll with it

not gonna lie, but I thought he was in the minors or had retired.

Think he'll fit in good with us though.
Didn't give up much

He's lazy, or at least, he alternates between giving a **** and playing lazy. Maybe the deal will wake him up. Worth a shot at the cost of a 6th.

Hopefully he realizes having been dealt for a conditional 6th, he's playing for his career at this point.

Quick stat comparison:
Stafford has been averaging about 1 minute more per game at 5vs5 than Jimmy Hayes. He's also averaged .273 primary points per game to Hayes' .143. Stafford should be a better possession player than Hayes as well.

He's played in both pp units, and the top guys here and there. He has had his chances. But he did nothing and has been fighting with injuries.
