He hasn’t been scoring goals but he’s definitely been better lately. He’s looked good with Cozens and has some nice apples lately.
Playing with Perron and Cozins has revitalized him. That line looks dangerous, and the top line does too. Heck, even the fourth line is buzzzing and pushing the play

Nice to see Ott getting some secondary scoring, finally & also nice to see that the kids have finally arrived. Pinto & Greig just keep getting better & they are just getting started. Also nice to see Batherson have a big game, he's back to being second on scoring on this team after having no puck luck for what seemed quite some time. All of a sudden the goaltending is good, the defence is playing well & the forwards are scoring again. I just wish they would have picked up a tough guy at the trade deadline to have when required. I expect that MacEwan & Gilbert will be around when they need them if the going gets tough in the playoffs.
Any chance he gets called in to testify in the hockey Canada’s trial? It will be during round one of the playoffs.
Yes been in the Belleville lineup for a couple weeks now I believe.

Had to have been something mental that was affecting his play. With just a tiny bit of tenacity he completely transforms his effectiveness.

Nice to see Drake getting some puck luck, he was all around it for a while but couldn't find the back of the net, probably something small injury bugging him. Even through the slump he was still one of our top pt producers & he is back to second leading scorer again. Ott needs him to be at his best.
That is 2 out of the last 4 games he has shown that desire to make a play, even without the puck.
When he is aggressive on the forecheck and moves his feet to get involved, good things happen.
The backcheck on Laughton, was a personal fave from last night. If he starts bringing that every game, he will exceed PPG the rest of the way.

This is definitely a motivator. However, I do think that he and Cozens simply have massive chemistry. The Cozens addition is a stroke of genius by Staios and staff.

I think this is a half truth.
He was playing the "wouldn't it be terrible if I gave away the puck and made a lot of oopsies and you had to trade me to a cushy American city" routine, but then he saw that Norris got dealt to Buffalo and realized that teams other than Dallas, Vegas, and Florida are allowed to acquire star players.

because nothing makes you more appealing to teams like Dallas, Vegas, and Florida like making bad plays and giving the puck away - all on purpose to boot.

Not disagreeing, they play well off of each other, but the difference in "get up n' go" cant just be attributed to chemistry.

It feels like Batherson never really had his true place in the lineup. He'd bounce around the top 6. Now it feels like he is part of a legitimate pairing with Cozens, a player who he has been upfront about having chemistry with both on and off of the ice.
In a way, it feels a bit like getting Jensen for Chabot.
Would also want to add a big tough defensive-oriented defensman who likes to hit (a la Volchenkov).
And I also liked how our D started to shoot at the net from the point. Even though point shots have a lower probability of going into the net, they create opportunities for tips and rebounds.
