The higher Caulfield goes, the better, IMO, since it hopefully pushes down one of the centers I want.

As much as I love Caufield, this is what I hope happens tooThe higher Caulfield goes, the better, IMO, since it hopefully pushes down one of the centers I want.
Not that I am mock draft kind of guy, but if I am Buffalo he's on my short list.
Good thing I am judging then. Will make it easy to rid the boards of my least like poster![]()
The old saying appliesYou can't dress a lineup of smurfs, but a few will hardly kill you, especially if they're willing to take the punishment required to get to the tough areas (See: Jaden Schwartz, JAM, Atkinsson, etc.)
+1Just wanna say thanks in here to all the contributors here... the value to someone like me can’t be measured.
I don’t know how u guys / gals find the time to know all these kids as well as u do. It makes for great reading.
Thank you!
You're safely in the top half of my favorite poster rankings (if I actually keep such a thing)Thank you for believing in my prospect rankings!!!

Just started reading this year's Black Book and in the quotes section more than one scout compares Kaliyev to Brendl. Yikes!

Caufield and a couple defensemen sneaking into the top-10 means the Rangers could get one of the top centers available if they can sneak into the early teens. Seems like the sort of draft board where that's totally plausible.
And if Kreider is used to get the additional 1st, they could use 20 to move up to get a Dman they like also.
Sounds like 2006 draft profile of Party Arty Anisimov, who we stole in the 2nd round that year
There's still plenty of time for a lot of these big guys to grow, some take time to grow into themselves, not going to show all their cards at 18 years old. That's the trick, imo, find out who hasn't hit their peak yet.
And yes, my hope is we get him with our 3rd rounder.
Quite a few people who wrote/reported on here from the earliest days of HockeysFuture.com.
Though in the next few years we’ll reach the point where the draft eligible players will have been born after some of our last articles appeared.
The unverified internet following the Hawks seems to think the pick is down to Turcotte and Zegras.
Makes me wonder if it was the Hawks who had Zegras fourth.
Also makes me wonder if Zegras is a kid with some slide potential depending on how things break. Could he be the kid who could go third, or fall outside the top 10.
When we were hovering around pick 8 or 9 back in November I thought Zegras would be our pick. I know it's possible, but can't see him falling out of the top ten.

This is a pretty dumb thought but I can't get it out of my head for some reason.
Let's say a run on defensemen happens which enables the Rangers to pick someone like Zegras with the pick they acquire for Kreider. That same run results in no D they're considering available at 20, and the clear BPA on their draft board is Spencer Knight. So rather than reach for a d-man a lot, or pick a third forward who they don't consider the best player, they take him. How upset would HFNYR be by that first round?
