But did they buy Kakko a suit for draft night?
Kakko's gonna have to wear a suit that says "DYLAN COZENS" on the pinstripes like Hosni Mubarak's old suit

I'd be completely shocked if Knight goes in the top 10. I could see around 15 however for a team very desperate to hopefully land a star goalie.

To be honest, I don’t think there is a big difference between 3/6/12. If you want Knight over everyone that will be sitting there at 12, would it be different at 6?

I hate talking about this kind of stuff in a way that makes me sound like a *****ebag but I saw an interview with Kaliyev where he like clearly has nervous tics?

Our 4th or 5th round draftee Morrison was diagnosed with Asperger's, he didn't get a contract here but he's with the Kings AHL team and he's doing fine. Not everyone who goes through the draft process is the same.

Yeah he stands out as very different than I would have imagined him. Will be exciting to follow him going forward, you always hope for the best for guys that are special in that sense.

Got to love this:

“Swedish centre Karl Henriksson (No. 83) had noteworthy, albeit isolated, first-round support.“

Haha, so one of ten had him in the 1st round at least. :)

Nice to see that my eye-test isn’t completely out of synch. I had Kaliyev out of the top 31 despite him having record high stats. But I was still surprised to see the number of scouts who also had him in the second round, 4 of 10:

“The biggest draft wild card is Kaliyev, the 6-foot-2 winger who scored 51 goals this season. Next to 72-goal scorer Cole Caufield, Kaliyev is quite likely best goal scorer in the draft. He has underrated playmaking ability, too, not to mention size and strength — but inconsistency of effort has created a polarizing effect among scouts. In the TSN survey of 10 scouts, one had the Kaliyev in the top 10 and another had him outside the top 40. The others had him spread out in between, totaling six votes in the first round and four in the second. No other prospect ranked in the first round has such a wide variance.”

If you have the 6th and want Knight, I'd say that team would be crazy not to trade down a bit.

2019 BOLD PREDICTIONS

There are a lot of ways draft day could go. Specific needs and smokescreen tactics will be plentiful beforehand, but this draft (just like any year) will be exciting!! Here are some bold predictions that I think could happen leading up to and on draft day....

Note: I did make this list in advance changing scenarios left and right before two massive deals went down today. I want it to be known that I had the Islanders ultimately trading their 1st in 2019, 2nd in 2020 and Ho-Sang to Winnipeg for Trouba. I did indeed had Karlsson extending with San Jose, albeit, less term.

Without further ado....

Trade Rumors
1. Phil Kessel WILL get moved out from Pittsburgh and it'll be out west.
2. Edmonton WILL move Lucic's contract, but with No. 8 overall as the price.
3. Vegas WILL trade the rights to William Karlsson and Reilly Smith, respectively, to the Metro Division.
4. Jets WON'T trade Tyler Myers and Nikolaj Ehlers.
5. Toronto WON't trade Nikita Zaitsev, but will trade Patrick Marleau out west.
6. Kasperi Kapanen is the only RFA offer sheeted.
7. Corey Perry WON'T be moved and will retire as an Anaheim Duck.
8. Capitals WILL trade Niklas Backstrom to a team in the Central Division.
9. Boston WILL trade Tuuka Rask and sign Sergei Bobrovsky during Free Agency.
10. Rangers WILL trade Jimmy Vesey, Chris Kreider and Pavel Buchnevich before July 1.

Draft
1. Vasili Podkolzin goes in the top 5.
2. Spencer Knight goes in the top 10.
3. Raphael Lavoie goes in the top 15.
4. Moritz Seider goes in the top 20.
5. The biggest risers in the 1st round will be Ville Heinola and Ryan Suzuki.
6. The biggest fallers in the 1st round will be Bobby Brink and Arthur Kaliyev.
7. Phillip Broberg will go in the late 1st round.
8. Peyton Krebs WON'T drop out of the top 10.
9. Ryan Johnson, Egor Afansayev and Karl Henriksson will be 1st round picks on Friday
10. Alex Newhook, Sam Poulin and Connor McMichael will fall out of the 1st round.
11. Rangers will pick Ryder Donovan later in the draft.
12. A complete unknown will be selected in the 1st 50 picks.

With the 2nd overall pick in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.... The New York Rangers select....
