Can always tank next year!If we lost the last game of the season in regulation we'd be drafting 4th OA. Canucks would be ahead of us, Columbus makes the playoffs, and we would be 14th spot. Schaefer/Misa/Hagens/Martone vs playoff experience.
EDIT: We would be in the 13th spot
You need to be at least PPG as a winger to be a core piece, and even then if youre offense only with no other dimension Id say thats pushing it.Haha ok man.
Come on man lolYou need to be at least PPG as a winger to be a core piece, and even then if youre offense only with no other dimension Id say thats pushing it.
Its the reality of the league now. We got players producing 140 points and guys like Wilson and Hyman getting to 70 points.Come on man lol
There were only 20 PPG players in the league this year. That's not very many "core" players. Its the reality of the league now. We got players producing 140 points and guys like Wilson and Hyman getting to 70 points.
Heres the list of comparables for Coles production, because thats what he is, production. Whos core in there? Rakell? Debrincat? Larkin for sure. Tuch? Old man Kadri? There were only 20 PPG players in the league this year. That's not very many "core" players.
Cole is not just a goal scorer, his 2 way game has vastly improved. I think anyone who has watched him progress since his rookie season can attest to it.Heres the list of comparables for Coles production, because thats what he is, production. Whos core in there? Theres more than just PPGs, theres playstyle and position and age that come into play. In Caufields case, what does he bring if not production? Thus, hes judged on production.
There should be abour 0 to 4 core players per team. Some teams, like the Flames and Kraken dont even have one.
Just ignore him, he doesn't know what he's babbling about!!There were only 20 PPG players in the league this year. That's not very many "core" players.
Okay his two way game has progressed from the gutter to NHL average, that doesnt make it a strength.Cole is not just a goal scorer, his 2 way game has vastly improved. I think anyone who has watched him progress since his rookie season can attest to it.
It's one thing not to like a certain player, we all have them, but it's another to lie to yourself about their worth to their team.
Anyways, I think we'll never come to an agreement on Cole, so I'll just let it be.
coffee is for ClosersIsles win the Cadillac Eldorado.

If you want a guy in his early twenties, he will be unproven, like Dach was. Please god no, a 38 yr old Crosby , tying up 8.5 and we are rebuilding. Enough stop gaps, get guys who can play another 10 years.

The issue for me is not the AAV of $8.7M. Two years is not "tying up". We did the exact same for Patrik Laine.
My problem is giving up both first round picks for a single two year rental.
Bring down the acquisition cost and we can talk.
36 guys had 82 points or more...I must've counted wrong. Thx.There were 36 (35 if you want to exclude Seguin who only played 20 games).
What the.... one of the worst trade proposition I've seen here in a while...I offer SJ Slaf, Reinbacher and pick 17 for 2OA.

That can step in next year? Misa at 1OA/2OA. So I'd say, realistically, no.Any projected 6'2 second line centers available to us at the draft lol??
None that seems to be going around #16-17. Bear, Cootes and Martin are 6'. The big centers are going top 15.Any projected 6'2 second line centers available to us at the draft lol??
