Hagens I would say no - needs another year and selfishly as a BC fan I want him with Stiga to see if they can dominate

Physical maturity or uber- skills and maybe Martone can do it.

Schaefer sounds like a legit chance and Misa I defer to @DominicT

Actually I defer to Dom for all lol
I spoke at great length with a Bruins scout last night and I can usually get something out of him, but not a peep. They aren't tipping their hand about who they like and where.

That said, everyone with a voice in the organization has been through the CHL the last few weeks, including Sweeney.

And Essensa was at a London Knights game just before the playoffs started so I assume someone sent him to look at Medvedev.

I like Frondell the best unless the Bruins luck out and draft in the top two. Yes, the Bruins need a playmaking center, but they also need scoring. Hagens and Desnoyers lean more heavily toward playmaker. Frondell has a more “hunter” approach to his offense and can still make plays.

Desnoyers would be really intriguing if he can get his foot speed and coordination up…to meet his brain. I think he is really smart and creative and has an edge to his game, but I am hesitant to go all in. The Q is still weaker than other CHL leagues…and Moncton is dominant.

I like him, though.

Hagens would be more attractive to me if he had more of a shoot first approach this year at BC. 11g in 37 games gives me pause. He scored a bit in NTDP…

And then there is Jake O’Brien…he’s climbing..

They do need some goalies in the pipeline. Would be nice to add a solid g prospect.

Sweeney last night basically says this - we have all these pass first centers we need guys that shoot

Lot of folks high on Frondell

So, I'm getting ready to go out and turned on the geniuses at 98.5 with Muck & Myer.
Their cliches talking hockey is just so trivial and topical.
Sometimes they'll make a comment that I'll think to myself
"okay, that's a good take" but 99.9% of the time
it's simply noise.
I do appreciate that they think they're talking hockey but
then I realize that they think that sports in general is
one size fits all, and if you know Baseball (Mazz) and Basketball (Felger) you can get away with dumb hyperbole takes regarding hockey.
Now saying that I also realize that 99,999% of their audience
are drunk, or a shut-in, and only have them on due to habit.
Sorry if this insults anyone.

Let the scouts pick so that they can blame them and fire him/them in a few years if the pick is a huge BUST!

and they will, and we will.

To surge forward this team will not only have to hit on this top 5 selection but they are going to need some later round success like they had with Marchand way back. Maybe a guy like Minton is that guy but most top teams have a few unexpected hits down the list and that makes the difference.

For hagens, rookie season. If he plays another I wouldn’t be surprised to see his goals double

I had it on in the kitchen and depending when I came in they were trashing the Red Sox, the NFL Draft, and the Bruins

So far, I like the Swedes, but it sounds like they are looking at CHL options, according to Dom. It would not be the first time I disagreed with Sweeney and CO. It is usually the case.

Would you trade our future draft capital to get both Frondell and Eklund?

My viewing has been similar to yours I’d say. And from that as well as scouting reports, I think I’d have Frondell over Martone.

Stone/Perry are mentioned comps and they’re great players, but their key attributes are size, grittiness, etc. Have to say I’m just so sick of that being the Bruins’ priority. Frondell seems to be higher skill and more offensive, which is exactly why I like Hagens as well. That’s the player I want…a skilled skater who can center a first line. Don’t need a banger or a Selke finalist.
I'll take a Selke finalist myself.

Misa > Frondell > Hagens > Desnoyers> McQueen. That’s the order. Any of those names should make fans happy now and in the future. May 6th/7th can’t come soon enough.

Really focused on our 2nd round picks now too. Hoping we can move up a few spots for some select names in the 30s-40s slots.
My sense from those who know is that on balance, Misa is the best of the bunch,

They are looking at all their options. I can say with certainty that Wetick has a complete book on Schaefer, Misa, Martone and O'Brien in the top ten. He is a master at his job IMO.

And I'm sure Malkoc has done his due diligence on McQueen, though I don't trust him.

And I'm sure Bissonnette has done the same with Desnoyers in the Q. Not to mention that they have all the inside info they can gather from Loke Johansson.

Im also sure that Harkins and his staff have done their homework on Hagens and PJ with the Swedes.

It's now time for the big guns to have a look at those players before they have their draft meetings.

All these players will be at the combine and the Bruins will interview them all. If (when) we get news that Sweeney has gone to meet the player and his family, then we'll know which way they may be leaning.
