Ik Buium is a great defenseman and it sucks to pass up on that. But some of yall need to relax, Parekh is no slouch. He has the most points of any 17 year old defenseman in the OHL this century.
You have to go back to 1989 to find a higher scoring 17 year old OHL defenseman, and we all know how ridiculously high scoring that era was.
To put it in perspective, he just outproduced 19 year old Hunter brzustewicz.

His struggles defensively are overstated too. He's going to be our PPQB and a top 4 defenseman in the league. Heck, this kid could be Makar good, although it's not likely. He's a better defender than Dickinson or Yakemchuk.

I think there's a good chance we are going to take at least one Russian either at 28 or with one of the 2nds. Flames scouted Russia a lot more this year.

I'm leery of guys who are just more physically mature than the guys they are playing against. IF he can translate his power game at the next level then he's a player, but usually they can't.
I doubt Hage is there too at 28. You'd need to trade up. He's going any minute. Eiserman too. Likely 2 of the next 4 picks.

I'd be fine going Russian or Stiga. I really don't know where to go now. I kinda like Basha, but don't love him. I kinda like a lot of defensemen here, but we don't really need another one. Solberg and Wallenius would be good value, just 2 D?

Ah, yes he's in the group. I am not up on the Russians. Just haven't seen them. No idea who is good and who isn't. Stiga should be on your list. There's some Ridley Grieg/Travis Konecny there. Just have to know he wants to be here since he's going to college.
