I’m still so happy we drafted him. I threw his name out there as a potential overager target a couple of weeks before the draft because I had caught a bunch of Barrie games to watch Svechnikov. I’m going to stick to my Jason Demers prediction, and that would be a helluva 3rd round pick if he can turn into that.

From an impact stand point? Because I don't see it stylistically.

Keane would be our best skating defenseman right now.

Both. They both skate well, are good 1v1 defenders, move the puck up ice efficiently, and are good at pinching in the offensive zone. If all works well for Keane, I see him being a second pairing guy that's a staple on your defense.

Is he a better skater than ADA and/or Gilmore? I mean, in terms of grabbing the puck on the back foot and turning it around and going on offense. If so, that’s impressive. Also Pionk has nice “handles” too. Which I think is where the league is going.
I have a good feeling about Keane from what I’ve read but I had no idea he’s so advanced, if true.

ooohhh I forgot Gilmore exited

Keane's 4 way mobility is uncanny though.

Friedman mentioned Artyom Zub and Ilya Mikheyev in his 31 thoughts column as two players NHL teams might have interest in after this season.

McCarthy shot the puck into his own net. I think Hughes might get credit for it because he was the last one to one it before McCarthy. 2-2.
