I like Broberg if we're picking in the teens.

Podkolzin, I'd be ecstatic with. I don't see him dropping out of the top 5.
Podkolzin, I'm with you on. Broberg...tough one. Late teens, early 20s maybe?

If we draft, let's say Turcotte at 5.... And Broberg at 17?

That's a slam dunk imo. We could get the 5th OA pick. We could trade up with the assets/picks we have if we get a late 1st rounder for Hayes or Zucc.

I usually like your read on things. Broberg I agree on you with. Podzolkin I'm ambivalent on. Who do you like best this year outside of Hughes and Kakko?

I have Byram 3rd... But the players i have higher then most are Zegras, Kaliyev (both top 6), Brink (top 10) and Fagemo (top 20).

Also, my top goalie is Konovalov, Knight is imo overrated and goalies are voodoo, i'll go with the overager crushing KHL thanks.

Podkolzin another work ethic guy with limited offensive upside. Just what we need. How bout for once we draft skill first please. Thank youuuu

I know how old he is, i'm comparing him to his peers… He has the Tools to produce but he doesn't, so why is that?
He absolutely does produce.

8 points in 15 games is nothing to scoff at for St. Petersburg this year. 8 points in 6 games at the WJAC.

What kind of production are you expecting??

What?!

He’s got 8 in 12 in MHL, 5 in 13 in VHL and 0 in KHL. His production is not very good at all. Add that his D-1 and D-2 production wasn’t anything special either

IMO, I think Podkolzin's work ethic, relentlessness and motor are solid enough to warrant a top 10 rating. Not to mention being smart in all three zones. I do see some concerns with scoring, but I think as he matures and develops it will come. Same was said about Chytil. He's a project pick, that I think will be worth it for whoever selects him in June.

But with that said, I might have to agree with @Amazing Kreiderman when considering what skillset and smarts Dorofeyev brings. Not to mention seeing him stick in the KHL longer. Juicy stuff!!

That's a very small sample size for all three leagues. He's also on a team that's stacked up front. He'll have to work real hard to crack that top 6 in SKA or be moved to a team for a better opportunity. You also have to consider the amount of travel he's had this year. Playing MHL, VHL and KHL, as well as WJC, and International tourneys for both the Russian U18 and U20 teams....

Misread his stats because I’m stupid. Still, you can see his offensive talent in the WJAC’s. He’s going to be a hell of a player imo.

VHL, MHL, KHL all St. Petersburg. Small sample? Sure, but i also added his D-1 and D-2 production, that’s almost a 3 year sample now. The only time he’s produced at an impressive level is at two short international tournaments

I see his tools, i don’t trust that he can translate those tools to production... short international tournaments are pretty bad when it comes to scouting actually

Small sample size in P/GP. He hasn't played over 15 games in any of the leagues he's played in this year. Not much playing consistency. Not sure if that's injury related or if coaching is keeping him to the sky box.

I don't know where you're getting his D-1 and D-2 stats from. He's been close to, at or above PPG in both of those years. Not to mention last year, he was traveling at a similar pace with the U17's and U18's as he is now.

I'm really not worried about him. He has the motor to get to the net and make plays, whether or not he scores in those chances. Maturity will be a key thing for his development.

I agree with you on Broberg, though. Not sure if I would take him in the 1st round....

PPG in Russian juniors is far from special, compare his numbers to other Russian prospects. He’s not a bad prospect, he’s just not a top 10 guy

I mean I think it's no question his play style will translate in the NHL. I agree it's concerning he's not scoring more, but he's exciting to watch with an electric work ethic. That alone creates opportunities for goals. I'm sure the points will come.

I think he's a top 10 talent, but time will tell. Like I said before, if most consider Podkolzin a top 10 prospect, then Dorofeyev needs to be regarded as such, too.

FWIW, Ville Heinola as been playing alongside Tarmo Reunanen in Lukko. It's known that the Rangers have been in contact with Tarmo this year (not sure if in person or elsewhere). Could be speculative that NYR are taking a look at the young defenseman....

;)
