Just read the tweet, too, and from what it says via Translate is that the Rangers are very, VERY high on Sam Fagemo. Very interesting offensive forward. Should've went in the draft last year. Should get picked this year....
obviously not who you asked, but here's my 2 centsOkay, Joey, is he a highly skilled player who can slide into the top 6? Which side is he most comfortable on? Is he someone you could see the Rangers spending a late first on?

I see him more as an offensive oriented middle 6er, doesn't have high end skills but can be a solid complimentary player. Defensive zone play needs to improve and he is a little awkward with the puck. Quick release and I like his shot selection but it needs more power/velocity. Can play both wings, I can see NYR grabbing him in the 2nd but i'm really not comfortable taking him in the 1st. I will say I have not seen him play this year outside of the highlights i've recently started watching but I did watch I think maybe 2-3 games of his last year
I wouldn’t mind spending a late 1st on Leason, I think he’s the real deal from what I’ve seen. Another (very underrated/unknown) overeager I wouldn’t mind taking a gamble on is defenseman Carter Berger out of the BCHL who plays with Riley Hughes (and Newhook) and is putting up better numbers than him. Could be a target for the Rangers. I have Berger at 82.Speaking of undrafted players...
Assuming we pick up another late 1st rounder or two, do we roll the dice on Brett Leason that early? Gotta think the Rangers like the idea of taking another talented kid who can play pro next season. The Raiders are obviously a great team this year, but he's playing some pretty impressive hockey.
I was eyeing him up as a possible target for that Tampa 2nd but he might be gone by then.

Late to the punch. @Lays pretty much said what I was gonna say. I agree that I see him more as a complimentary winger in the middle-6 at the pro level, ATM.
I definitely don't think he's awkward with the puck, though, and his defensive play isn't too bad for a rookie in the SHL. It could use honing, like board battles and being a little more aggressive at the points, but it's not like he isn't shy from it.
I think it'll depend on who's there in the later 1st. There could be some really interesting movement in the rankings after the WJC. I would put him at the later 1st round-early 2nd round range, only because he's an overager and there could be some first year eligibles that might have a higher ceiling, per say. If he falls to the 2nd or later though, it would be a solid pick, but not necessarily a steal.
It’s one of the reasons that I think Cozens is the better of the 2 WHL guys moving forward. The kid has barely any help in Lethbridge.Dach lacks speed. We just saw Dylan Strome get traded because of it, and he was ridiculous in the OHL. Even Andersson appears to have lost a step since he was 17 and he struggles to accelerate into open ice. Dach can be deceptive from of wall or corners but he gets away with a slow first step in junior because of his size and reach against smaller defenders, and it will be tougher once he faces bigger, thicker and quicker defenders. Vilardi may have the same issue if he ever gets healthy.
Tavares is a guy that worked hard to get quicker and Dach can one day do the same, but he kinda scares me as a top three.
Not sure. Dach does not need to be the best skater on the ice to be successful. It’s one of the reasons that I think Cozens is the better of the 2 WHL guys moving forward. The kid has barely any help in Lethbridge.
Right, but it’s still important to remember that the goal scoring for Dach didn’t start taking off until this year. Cozens has more of the two-way ability and I think he’ll be the kid that can carry his team more down the line. It’s not a knock against Dach, I’ve just consistently like Cozens more. Not sure. No crying from this end if the Rangers end up with Cozens. Both could be top 5 picks, along with Byram. He's going to. I have him overtaking Byram and Podzolkin at the moment. No crying from this end if the Rangers end up with Cozens. Both could be top 5 picks, along with Byram. Unless Boldy continues to sky rocket.
Solid top 7. Would love for the Rangers to land any one of them. 8,9,10 we can debate at a later time. He's going to. I have him overtaking Byram and Podzolkin at the moment.
1. Hughes
2. Kakko
3. Dach
4. Cozens
5. Boldy
6. Podzolkin
7. Byram
8. Kaliyev
9. Suzuki
10. Turcotte
Yep give me Cozens over Dach but imo the best player coming out of the W this year is byramIt’s one of the reasons that I think Cozens is the better of the 2 WHL guys moving forward. The kid has barely any help in Lethbridge.
That could be. Looking at the top 7 players, I think that the Rangers would do well to get any of them. However, I do think that there will be some who would be disappointed if management "settled" for Byram.Yep give me Cozens over Dach but imo the best player coming out of the W this year is byram
Can you save your straw man condescension for the roster building thread?Corey Pronman had a chat on The Athletic on Monday.
A few highlights
Kakko is better than any of the forwards taken last June after Dahlin. Kakko is a star forward. The Rangers couldn't use one of those players. Oh no.
Great depth at center in the draft after Hughes. Cozens. Dach. Turcotte. Zegras. He also likes Suzuki.
Where would Cozens, Dach, Turcotte and Zegras rank as Rangers? If the Rangers drafted one of them, wouldn't they be the Rangers top young center out of Andersson, Chytil and Howden?
You know that everyone on these boards would want a skilled young F like Hughes or Kakko. C’mon now.Corey Pronman had a chat on The Athletic on Monday.
