I'd easily take Kovalchuk if he signed for cheap. But yeah I'm not sure I see the fit at ES and he would probably only be a 2nd unit PP option.

After he scored a few he’s likely be the featured guy, if we were willing to shape a unit the way you need to use him. In Montreal even Weber deferred to him and it worked. LA and Wash both have very set pp’s with guys in his spot. He needs the left point/middle and needs to be able to roam the line and come all the way down to the left circle. He never stopped being deadly there.

I thought so too but when they’re healthy I don’t know that they have a good spot left for him. He started moving down their lineup as they got guys back despite the fact he was playing well. They like him but there has to be room.

Yeah, I don't think Murray is as bad as some, but that's awful and paying for what he did in two Cup runs for another team that was loaded. I might have paid the acquisition cost for him, but no way on that contract.
