I think at this point in the conversation, if your argument against EP40 is "Duh, he makes $11.6mil" your opinion on the matter should be automatically dismissed.

Part of the value we get is the cap hit, especially once Sid and Karlsson retire or leave. $31mil to spend after that...and on who? That's just to get to the floor and we have zero internal options to fill that gap. So who on the open market is worth giving that much to?

How about the argument that a couple of his coaches as well as the Sedins question his work ethic since he signed his new deal? How several teammates and him didn't get along? And that his production has taken a significant down turn?

How many more reasons could you possibly need?

To want a player who's significantly flawed because he makes good money is an awful premise as to why we should acquire him!
