Not at all, at that point they could just sign him long term as the cap is going up.Lol almost the worst outcome for our board's sanity because this just punts a resolution 6-8 months down the road.
Sam Steel should start packing now. They’re over the cap but seems like they’ll make it work.

Like I said earlier, the pressure will be off now. Dallas is out of cap hell after this season. They can do a 7-year, $18 million AAV for next year if they want.Lol almost the worst outcome for our board's sanity because this just punts a resolution 6-8 months down the road.
Yeah this was always going to be the end result. The main thing that was repeated about this situation was that Dallas wanted Robo to stay and Robo wanted to stay in Dallas.Like I said earlier, the pressure will be off now. Yeah, I think people were glossing over the fact that this was a short-term problem, not a long-term one for Dallas. It was only an issue if Robertson absolutely refused to budge and/or the arbitrator gave him a massive one-year deal. Instead, they came to a compromise, and now everyone is going to get what they want in Dallas.Yeah this was always going to be the end result. The main thing that was repeated about this situation was that Dallas wanted Robo to stay and Robo wanted to stay in Dallas.
Still only July but kind of a ‘meh’ offseason.
Offseason is so far is not very good as far as pointing in a contending now or contending in the future direction. They likely did not get better, but also haven't sold.Yeah this was always going to be the end result. Novak and McGroarty for Wright makes sense. Now let’s do EK for Nikishin and Novak + pick/prospect for Wright.
Been thinking that EK for Nikishin is one of those deals Tulsky probably wouldn’t make in terms of max return value but he might get vetoed by Brind’Amour and ownership as too good to pass up. Unique situation where they want to repeat while their window is open.
insert "always has been" memeWe’re literally going to camp with these 18 forwards aren’t we? Lol
Most likely. We’re literally going to camp with these 18 forwards aren’t we? Lol
Always was the plan. Let some UFAs go, signed RFAs, and keep Crosby's security blankets. Dumping some core players for a first was never going to happen, nor was dumping top prospects/picks for a headlinerOffseason is so far is not very good as far as pointing in a contending now or contending in the future direction. No, the plan was to improve. They have not improved yet.Always was the plan. Let some UFAs go, signed RFAs, and keep Crosby's security blankets. Dumping some core players for a first was never going to happen
Was it though? The end of season press conference was filler that revealed nothing. No big changes are happening with the team until the core retires and hands are forced. No, the plan was to improve. They have not improved yet.
They literally tried hard to acquire Jason Robertson as per Elliotte Friedman. Spezza went out of his way to say the vets on the team are really pushing for them to improve the team. Yes, that was the plan. Was it though? The end of season press conference was filler that revealed nothing. No big changes are happening with the team until the core retires and hands are forced.
I thought new ownership might push them one way or another, but they seemed more concerned with their ECHL team I guess?Got to say im not really looking forward to the season with this stale old roster. Dubas affraid to commit either direction just makes me not care bout this team. Team more worried keeping Sid happy than actually improving the team or shipping out Rust an Rakell. Same old same old.
