Salary Cap: Dr Dubas Cap Thread: He wants the Nurse

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
Pagnotta listing penguins among teams interested in Robertson is cute.

Unless Dallas truly values Rust or Rakell as a cheap alternative and then ask for our 1st and much more I’m not sure how you make that trade happen.

Exactly…we have zilch and we shouldn’t be giving up any of Murashov, Kindel or Brunicke for a winger…

Let me know when Dubas has the balls to collapse his franchise and retain on his big dogs like Grier did.

It’s easy to collapse a franchise that collapsed on itself after 2016. Grier paid 2 2nd and 6 million for a guy who’s most likely a 3rd liner.

Let me know when his team does something

Real talk, Horcoff, Zonnon, Pickering and 22OA would not bother me in the slightest.
Hell no! Not for Robertson that's arguably three of your top five young assets.

We're NOT a Robertson away from competing, not even close.

All that would do is keep us in the mushy middle, no thanks!

Oh, I don’t think we are beyond a playoff team, but I don’t think we are top 10 draft pick without significant injury and I think you’re overrating how bad the D is.

Also we will be adding some cap at some point.
FWIW, we have the 9th longest odds to win the '27 Cup, so professional bettors think we are in top 10 draft pick territory.

There is literally no reason to post anything from any media right now

They're all saying i am hearing that every player is in play and every team is working the phones, time will tell if the deals can get done at the prices the GMs want

No f***ing shit

Lot's of shoes left to drop in the next 30 hours.
  • Requested Trades: Larkin, Nurse
  • Pending RFAs: Robertson, Mintyukov, Zellweger
  • Rumored guys like McTavish, EP40, Knies, Thomas, Trockek, Nikishin, Zary, Tippett, Reilly
  • Does OTT do more to replace Tkachuk? GM sure seemed like he wanted to pump the whole trade return directly into the lineup.
  • Buffalo made out well on the Byram trade, but between Byram and Tuch they're a weaker team now than when the season ended. Do they weaponize that 4OA to get back to or above where they were?
  • Florida, Carolina and others need goaltending. Bob, Hellebuyck?
  • SJS needs RHS defensemen. #2 seems too high, #9 too low for the sweetspot on those guys.
  • Lots of "contenders" still quiet: EDM, MIN, MTL, VGK
Helle to BUF for #4 OA makes a lot of sense. I could also see EK going to either BUF or SJ - both would be a great fit for what they need (not for the long term in SJ, of course). Not sure if SJ cares about draft spot if they like the RHS defenseman. I imagine there will be a lot of action with this list on July 1 if it doesn't happen before/at the draft.

Serevalli saying that the Canes offered 1st+Nikishin for Helle. If that's true I don't know what Chevy is waiting for. No one's beating that

BUF has picks #4 and #20 (and a lot of good young players), whereas CAR's 1st is #31, which is essentially a 2nd round pick. I think BUF can beat CAR's offer and I hope they do.

Grier wouldn't have razed the Sharks to the ground if their core had won 3 Cups and was still led by the best player of his generation instead of a group that accomplished precisely jack shit.

It's exceedingly easy to tear down nothing of substance.

I don't know if our room would get/keep Nuke on track, or if Nuke would poison the room with some of the young guys.
The bigger problem for me is that he is 31 with 4 years left on his contract. Seems like just setting ourselves up for another Rust/Rak situation, and that's a best-case scenario. We need guys on 1-2 year contracts so we can flip them quickly for assets and build up our young talent. Right now we have exactly 2 guys for the next core, and they're not even sure things.
