I don't think Dubas has ever traded up in his career (unless he had already traded down).

There's a chance that's true. It would feel pretty uninspiring since they should be insulating Brunicke. And that means Letang at 2nd pairing still which he does not feel cut out for. But they may be stuck there.

Korczak just signed a 4 year deal at a reasonable rate, so it's ridiculous that he would be going anywhere.

If Vegas did trade Korczak, it wouldn't be the first time they signed a player and traded him relatively soon into his contract because they liked another player more.

Letang won’t be healthy all year. It would be nice to have some sort of Brunicke/Letang thing going for that bottom pair and he can get playing time in the AHL while also getting significant NHL minutes.

I’m assuming Nurse is going to be on the 2nd pairing with someone else being brought in maybe Andersson or idk.

JSI should probably be moved I don’t see him having a ton of ice time here. Brunicke and Letang should be getting most of that bottom pairing minutes on the Right Side.

The idea here is the same as some of the other trades we've made. Upmaxx value. A RHD that can potentially become a 20 minute a night guy and contribute some points is going to have a ton more value than a 30+ year old goal scoring winger.

Guy is 25 and just played his first full season as a regular. At 16 minutes a game. I don't even think he's a bad target, but it isn't some slam dunk he's a 20 minute guy.

The thing is you didn't trade Rackell straight up. You retained half his salary AND took on a bad contract just to get a guy who is maybe a second pair guy but hasn't proven it.

Korczak for Rackell is probably a fair trade. Vegas gets a proven scorer at a good price as they try to stay under the cap and contend now. Pittsburgh gets a mid 20s defender they hope can handle a bigger role. Don’t see why we should add. Pens risk missing on this and having another 3rd pair RHD to compete with Brunicke.

She's relatively attractive. That's why people are largely upset. Has nothing to do with skill.

I don’t think Letang is leaving at all. His cap hit is meaningless with how much cap we have. He has 2 years left and he likely finishes here. He’s fine as a bottom pairing rotation option.

Andersson would be get a ton of ice time here and may want to recoup some contract value. He will likely just sign a long term deal somewhere else.

EK is unpredictable if we are out of the playoffs moving him could very easily happy. Extending him doesn’t make all that much sense but EK really controls all the outcomes.

I don’t think Andersson and EK really impact each other. Unless Andersson wants like significant PP time somewhere.
