Do the players really care about the playoff? Many of them looked quite uninterested, except perhaps for the last five minutes… I understand that they are not paid anything extra for the additional games?

Not sure if Martin is playing through injury or just worn down after long season, but he doesn’t have the jump he usually has. The hands and brain are there, but he isn’t getting separation. Gonna be a big summer for him.
Completely invisible the last 2 games. You are 100% right this guy needs to need to have a big summer, get rest/healthy/whatever, and prove he is worth the 5OA with a strong season in Milwaukee when the puck drops again.

I’ve tried to tune in when I can, so by no means am I an expert, but I am really hoping the injury really altered Martin’s D+1 season.

I believe that the AHL, like the IHL and the NHL, pays playoff money. Of course the Ads will get the least amount, being out first.

As a season ticket holder who saw 30+ Ads games in person, and 2 on TV, these guys fought to the end all of the time! They won 12 overtime games. They had 7 come back games where they were down 2 or more goals and won.

The team had 41 players on the roster this season. Seventeen of them were AHL rookies. Ten players were called up to Nashville for at least one NHL game.

Nashville called up 4 Ads players for the last 6 weeks of the season. I believe that it hurt the offense and maybe kept them from moving up to 4th place and having 3 home games in the playoffs.

Unfortunately, that is Minor League hockey! You always have injuries, trades, call ups and a losing streak. (This season, it was 9 games. Last season, they won 23 consecutive games. You don't expect either of those to happen. It isn't normal.)

Matt Murray made 103 saves in 3 games. He did his part. The Ads outscored the Moose 6-5, but had two 2-1 losses in the series. The needed another goal here or there and did not get it. DeVincentiis played well, allowing only 2 goals in 2 games.

The players don't want to be playing golf yet. Us fans are used to the team playing in May or June. This was the first under .500 season in 25 years. That was by 1 point.

Karl Taylor is a very good coach! He managed More adversity than happens in a typical season and nearly won a road playoff series. I just don't think that any gas is left in the tank. There were too many mountains to climb this year!

Hopefully, they will have more offensive fire power next season. Cole O'Hara, a rookie, led the team with 19 goals. That should not happen in a veteran driven league, but Lucchini was out a bunch of games. L'Heureux was called up twice IIRC.

Ufko, a Dman who led the team in scoring, was gone for those six weeks. Osterle took his spot and played quite well. That is why he was mobbed by his teammates. He almost pulled it off!

Yeah, I'm not going to be as nice as adsfan. It's the least interested I've been in the Ads in years and they were a pretty brutal watch for the majority of the year.

Shawn Element is going to Maine to play in the ECHL playoffs. He hopes to return to the Admirals for next season!

The "Let It Simmer" podcast for the end of the season cut out on me twice. That has never happened before.

Seems like Big Time is off to Sweden... which I think is fine. He was "mostly adequate" in his time in Milwaukee... had some really good games, but never consistent enough to challenge for the starting job, and therefore not really an NHL prospect candidate. Meanwhile, Haider and Semptimphelter have been lights out and are signed to AHL contracts, so the Ads will presumably have them competing to back up Murray next season.

BTW... how is the Milwaukee lineup looking for next season? I'm thinking Brady Martin probably plays for the Ads? Or at least one of him or Pinchuk, but not both, in the off chance Pinchuk can't cut it in the NHL?
I guess I'll also default Kemell back for his final season with the Ads? I'm just thinking there are sooooo many young players in the default Preds lineup as of now, I'm not sure they can justify keeping Kemell up too? But him or even Fink could still stick with the Preds.

Generally speaking, there are an adequate number of bodies around at forward already. Although some more veteran star power would definitely help... not sure how much Carr has left in the tank, another bigger name AHL vet up front would help.

Daniel Carr* - Jake Lucchini - Joakim Kemell
Felix Nilsson - Brady Martin / Vitali Pinchuk - Aiden Fink
Oasiz Wiesblatt* - David Edstrom - Cole O'Hara
Kalan Lind - Kyle Marino* - Joey Willis
Hiroki Gojsic
Austin Roest
Ben Strinden*

Defense definitely needs a couple more bodies. Assuming Ufko sticks with the Preds, it would be ideal to be able to bring Oesterle back, because this team needs some of that production from the back end?

Tanner Molendyk - Andrew Gibson
Viggo Gustafsson - Kevin Gravel*
Daniel Nieminen - ???
???

With Chrona gone, Haider and Semptimphelter seem ready to compete for the backup job.

Matthew Murray
Ethan Haider*
T.J. Semptimphelter*

(* = AHL contract)

Lind may not be on the 4th line.

I see Roest as the part time #3 and/or #4 Center. He needs to work on his skating.

I don't know about Gojsic or Strinden fitting in with the Ads.

With the two Finns seemingly entrenched in Nashville, was wondering about the NHL potential for Matt Murray.

Career-high 50 games (including playoffs) and is still only 28-years-old - about the time a goalie enters their prime.

Any chance he gets moved for an NHL opportunity elsewhere or is his career plateau that of an AHL goalie (not a small feat)?
