Today's Ads lineup could be quite the spectacle? If Kemmel and Schaefer are still injured, with Svechkov, Hinostroza, and Bellows up (can he make it back for a 4pm game)... :(

They are playing in Rockford. You can get there by flying into Chicago and driving NW. Then the Admirals fly to Charlotte for 2 games, then go to Texas for 2 games. The 5 game road trip ties for the longest one of the season. It follows a 5 game home stand.

Since Kemell finished the game on Wednesday, I believe that he is not seriously injured.

Edit:
The Ads signed Anders Bjork. He has played 225 NHL games, mostly with Boston and Buffalo. Last year, he played 40 games for ROCKFORD!

Kemell is playing, as are 7 Dmen.

Kemell has been a target in Period 1. Baddock ran him over. Sandford for Roughing and a 10 minute Misconduct for throwing the puck at Kemell. Kemell received 2 minutes for Cross Checking Sanford. Rockford scored on a breakaway. Goal #2 was never seen by Murray. It was a chip into the zone when the IceHogs were going to change, and it went into the net. Goal #3 had a player pushed into Murray when Rockford scored. SOG 16-5 Rockford.

In Period 2, Rockford had two consecutive Icings waived off. Aaron Sims was really angry about the first one! The Ads lost the puck coming up ice after the second one and Rockford scored on their only SOG in the first 5 minutes. The wheels are coming off today! Rockford scores with 1:20 left. It is announced as a PPG. Aaron Sims says that it WAS NOT A PPG!. Lucchini was horse collared down to the ice and no call. Angello wanted to fight Sanford. Sanford refuses.
The SOG were 9-6 Ads, but the IceHogs scored two goals. I expect Rockford to goon it up in Period 3. That is how they play and why they are in 5th place, 5 points behind Milwaukee.

Period 3 had no goals scored. Three Misconducts were handed out and Ozzy had a fight. The SOG were 11-10 Milwaukee, but they were shut out, 5-0.

The PTO to Bjork should help, he's a potential 1st line veteran for the team. I guess he had a big shoulder surgery last year that he is now just recovered from, hence being unsigned at this late stage?

Despite what you'd think from his name, Anders Bjork was born in Wisconsin, played in Ann Arbor with the NTDP, and went to Notre Dame. The Preds might be keeping Hinostroza up the rest of the way? Bjork has 336 games so he's fully in "Veteran" status for the development rule. I think that would basically hold the Ads at their cap for veterans, if everybody was healthy and Hinostroza stayed with the Preds?

Rough count...

Bjork is V
Bellows is VE
Lucchini is just barely VE
O'Reilly is V
Gravel is V
Angello is also just barely VE

... any others I'm missing?

I checked out Kyle Marino. He has 169 AHL games, 139 before this season. Do the 46 ECHL games count against his total?

Scott Reedy has played 123 AHL games before this season, plus 35 NHL games, totaling 158 games.

Turner Ottenbreit has played 179 AHL games before this season, 64 KHL and 98 ECHL games.

My understanding is that you can play 5 veterans, not counting the goalie.

My understanding is that ECHL (or any pro league LOWER than the AHL) don't count. Nor do playoff games. Nor any games accumulated in the current season.

And that you can play 5 "veterans" ... i.e. in the "V" category above... with > 320 games, but you can play up to 6 by including "veteran exempt" players "VE" category above who have 261-320 games. So you could sneak in 6 skaters with the V+VE mix we have?
:dunno:
