Question for those watching the Ads games and Preds games both:

Does it seem like Taylor is trying to mimic Bruno's systems? It's sort of the model teams usually try to employ, so that players coming up from the farm transition "seamlessly" into the NHL lineup. But I wouldn't guess the Ads are actually doing that right now? :dunno:
Taylor tries to play the same systems as the Preds. I have heard him say that on the radio in the past. I have seen only one practice since he has been the HC in Milwaukee. The Admirals don't usually have open ones. That goes back to the Bradley Center days. I remember "Long Twos", plus 6 or 7 other exercises for the STH Night.

Based on the respective records, Taylor is better at that than Bruno is!!!

I bet trotz would love to send them Parssinen.
They need Parssinen, Evangelista, maybe take Del Gaizo back if he is still within the waivers window. Then Stastney to start playing, and Kemell must be injured too?

I honestly think L'Heureux is up to stay. The Preds basically need at least 2 "Milwaukee D" also, can be Wilsby+Blankenburg for now. That could switch if Stastney gets back on his feet ok and eventually comes back up as one of the 2.

Svechkov is ok but probably should still finish this season in Milwaukee. If they got Evangelista and Parssinen back also, then that's how Milwaukee becomes a powerhouse again. :dunno:

Svechkov has looked better the more he plays. It wouldn't shock me at all that he stays up and Trotz moves someone like Sissons, Novak, Parssinen, or McCarron out. The Wedgewood trade may be a pretty good indication that he has given up on this season even if he hasn't stated it publicly or told the players.

I don't think the Wedgewood trade is any kind of " shake up ", I think its more likely its a sign he may be starting to clear the house and possible try and save money. We will see though.

Milwaukee
Tonight it is the second place Admirals (9-4-1-2 for 21 points) hosting the fourth place IceHogs (6-9-1-0 for 13 points).

Milwaukee is 0-2-1-2 in their last five games. Vinnie Hinostroza still leads the AHL in scoring with 24 points on 6G and 18A. Kemell, Lucchini and Bellows each have 11 points.

Milwaukee has 3 new players this week, C Mike O'Leary, F Ryder Rolston (son of Brian) and D Chad Nychuk.

The starters are: Chrona, LD Gravel, RD Ufko, LW Rolston, O'Reilly (C) and RW Angello.

Line 2 was Vinnie, Lucchini (C) and Schaefer.

Line 3 Ozzy and Campbell (C) and Bellows.

Line 4 was O'Leary (C), Mutter and Marino.

Mitchell Weeks is in goal for Rockford. Without his mask, he looks like a HS senior.

Brandon Baddock #13, kneed Ozzy in the Neutral Zone. Marino fed him about 7 knuckles sandwiches and got 17 minutes. Six minutes into the game and the fans are already chanting at the refs. Rockford scores a PPG with an assist to ref Bobby Jo Love! Campbell kicks the puck out of the Ads zone after his stick breaks.

Mutter checked one of Rockford's small players, who hit Mutter with his stick. Mutter butt ended him in the shoulder and it hurt! That was retaliation for the dirty knee against Ozzy. Karl Taylor was yelling at Bobby Jo Love.

Baddock, who just got out of the box, hit Hanzel from behind and VERY LATE. No call. Rockford just Elbowed Ozzy on the endboards in front of ref Alex Lepkowski. No call. The fans keep yellowing at Lepkowski for a minute. "Do your job! Are you blind? You suck!"

Mutter hit somebody late and a few IceHogs were yapping at him from the safety of their bench. Mutter said something back to the guy on the north end. I think that was #28 Colton Dach. We will see how many teeth he loses if the refs don't starting calling the dirty play on Rockford. They got away with a lot in period 1. Milwaukee is starting to retaliate with the same tactics. The Ads look like they are playing angry! They dominated the last 5 minutes, allowing the IceHogs no shots. The SOG were 13-8 Rockford. It had been 11-2 at one point.

Period 2 begins with the same 6 Ads.
Schaefer just shot the puck so hard that the Dman's stick went flying 40 feet. Good old #13 (Baddock) was called for Hooking two minutes into the period. Rolston is spitting blood at ref Bobby Jo Love every time he goes past the Ads bench. He took a stick to the mouth. No call. Rockford killed the penalty. Phillips called for the weakest Cross Checking that I have ever seen. It must be a make up call. The Ads are not getting SOG on the PP.

Rolston has Acme Rocket Skates on. He just went end-to-end and passed 3 IceHogs. His teammates need to get open. Baddock with an elbow against Schaefer. Baddock gets called for another Elbow. The PA said "Welcome Back Brandon Baddock"! That is a first!

Rockford killed the penalty again. Ozzy called for playing the puck with his stick. Officially it was called Tripping. Ozzy did not like the call. Neither did I. It was weak. "Welcome back #41 Isaac Phillips for Delay of Game".

Angello (2) scores the PPG with 1:38 remaining in the period. Assists to Prokop (2) and Nychuk (1). SOG 13-8 Ads.

I saw Tony Hrkac during the intermission. Before the game, I saw a man who looks like Dean Evason. Emphasis on "looks like". He was not chewing gum, so I don't think it was really Dean the Idiot.

Period 3 starts all even at 1 to 1 and 21 SOG for each team. Bobby Jo can't drop the puck! Ozzy just leveled the 6'4" Zach Sanford in the Neutral Zone. Welcome back, Zach!

The Ads had the puck in the O- zone for a minute and no SOG. Dach with a high hit on Bellows, who got his #28. Ads fail to clear the zone and Rockford scores at 5:50. Rockford 5-0 SOG. The Ads pull out some magic at 9:02 by Bellows (7) with assists to Ozzy (5) and Campbell (1) on beautiful tic-tac-toe!

Mutter gets 4 minutes for High Sticking right after he buried a guy in the SW corner with the biggest check of the game. He hit the second IceHog in the head, so I have to agree with the call. O'Reilly nearly had a shorty and the Ads killed the penalty.

Hinostroza missed an open goal!!! With 3:40 remaining, the SOG are 29-23 Rockford. It could have been 2 goals on 3 SOG. Vinnie was less than 10 feet from the goal when Weeks was to the left of the crease. Gravel gets Delay of Game with 2:32 remaining. OUCH! The Ads killed it.

Nychuk fell down and accidently took out an IceHog. He was called for Tripping. It was a total accident as Nychuk went down hard. About 1:53 of the penalty carries over into OT. That call sucked after what has not been called in this game!

The Ads take a TO with 4:31 remaining in OT and 1:24 in the penalty. Hand Pass on Rockford with 4:05. The Ads killed it. Just 2:48 remaining.

Vinnie on a breakaway!!!!!!!!!!!!Ads win!!!!!
It was passes from Nychuk (2) and O'Reilly (9) that broke the 5-game winless streak.

The #1 Star was Hinostroza, who has scorched Rockford for 3G and 4A already this season. The #2 Star was Angello with 1G. Chad Nychuk should have been the #3 Star of the Game with two assists.

The final SOG were 31-25 Rockford, but Magnus Chrona had 29 saves for the win.
The Admirals played hard while serving 27 PIMs. Baddock served 9 PIMs, it should have been MORE.

On Tuesday, the third, Cleveland comes to town for a 7 PM game.

Tonight, the Admirals (10-4-1-2; 23 pts) host the Cleveland Monsters (14-5-0-1, 29 pts). The Ads are in 2nd place in the Central and the Monsters are in 1st place in the North.

Joseph LaBate and Rocco Grimaldi are the former Admirals playing for Cleveland.

LD Nychuk, RD Matier, LW Mutter, C O'Leary with Marino RW and Murray in goal.

Jet Greaves is in net for the blue clad Monsters. Hinostroza (8) scores unassisted 63 seconds into the game, on the first SOG and a wrister. At 1:58, Cleveland for Too Many Men. Ads called for Offside, when it wasn't. Angello tripped after the face off. No call. Ozzy (2) scores at 4:10 at ES. Prokop (3) and Kemell (7) with the assists. The Ads have 2 goals on 4 shots! (After the game, the AHL shows Lucchini, not Prokop).

Wahl is playing between Angello and Rolston. Lucchini between Vinnie and Schaefer. Bellows centers Ozzy and Kemell.

One Ads front line all looked back when stepping onto the bench. That tells me that somebody from Cleveland said something that they should not have. That was Lucchini's line with the swivel heads.

Greaves was out of position and the Ads missed the net. Cleveland goes down the ice and scores a fluky goal at 12:47. SOG 11-3 Ads. It is 2-1 Ads, instead of 3-0. Ads hit the left post on a turnover! Cleveland is lucky tonight. Lucky that the Ads don't have four goals.

In the last minute, Rolston sends a shot off of Greaves left arm that went just wide of the left post. I thought that it was going in because there was a lot of room on that side. SOG were 14-9 Ads. Lucchini said something to #10, Luca Del Bel Belluz after the period. LDBB stayed on the ice to talk to the refs for about a minute.

Period 2 starts with LaBate taking out Marino at the Ads blue line. Mutter skated over after the NO Call and LaBate turtled. Mutter got 2 for Roughing. Ufko took the puck from LDBB like he was a 6 year old. The Ads killed the penalty. The net was off a foot and none of the officials saw it for about 10 seconds!

Players were Slashing and punching and NO Call on anybody. It was Matier and Sillinger. The latter is now in the Ads net, being face washed by Marino. Gravel seems upset with ref Jarrod "the big Ragu" Ragusin. The next time a Monster takes a poke at Murray, will be the last time!

Grimaldi interfered with Bellows behind the Ads net. Bellows slashed his left hand in front of a ref. No Calls. At the other end, 5 Monsters are bravely pushing with 3 Admirals after a cross check after the whistle. No Calls. Angello was being held from behind as #17 was punching him. No Calls on that?

Ozzy was headbutted after the whistle by #11, James Malatesra. They both got 10 minutes. That used to be an ejection! #4 just punched Lucchini after the next whistle and he did get called for Roughing. Finally!!! Monsters killed it. With 5:29 remaining, SOG are 27-12 Ads. That is 13-3 so far this period, while the Monsters have played like Federal League GOONS. Hinostroza called for Interference after he took a big hit at the Red line. Vinnie nailed the guy back.

Rolston (3) scores over the glove with an assist to Angello (3) at 18:32 of the period. Wall gets slashed BEFORE the puck drop by #45. Murray slashes #45 for being in the crease. At the other end, Marino is checked in the NW corner, then he checks a Monsters player before the horn sounds. A Linesman gets in between as the Monster chases after Marino. All of those checks were before the horn! SOG are 30-14 Ads and 16-5 in Period 2. The Ads lead 3-1.

Ragusin has problems dropping the puck to begin Period 3. Mutter called for Hooking at 45 seconds. I did not see it because I was typing. Angello and Kemell on the PK. Then Schaefer and Lucchini. Lucchini cross checked well after the Icing and in front of a ref, who grabs Lucchini. Both 37 and 19 cross checked Lucchini. LaBate gets called for Tripping Bellows. Angello pops open the door in the SE corner. Ref Stephen Hiff was hit with the puck by both teams in less than one minute!

Clayton just cross checked Hinostroza when the puck was 40 feet away. No Call. Kemell wants to fight, 93 jumps him from behind. Kemell gets 2 minutes for defending himself against TWO Monsters! Roughing is the BS call. Clayton punching Kemell in the back in the SE corner. No Call.

Ads hit the right post. It is called Icing? If it went into the goal would these refs still call it Icing? Kemell with a couple of big checks.

At 4:26 remaining, the goal is EMPTY. Wall passes to Rolston in the high slot and the puck hops over his stick. Another missed goal. Cleveland gets a penalty for Hooking at 17:50 and Gravel is angry that only one penalty was called. He has a good point.

A long shot from the NE corner to make it 4-1. It was Gravel (1). His first PPG since 2017. The game ends without a big fight, much to my surprise. The SOG were 12-5 Cleveland and 36-26 Admirals.

The Stars of the Game were #1 Angello. No points but he won a lot of face offs and killed several penalties. Ryder Rolston was #2 with the big insurance goal at the end of Period 2. He is speedy with a wicked shot. (Bruno will turn him into a goalie!) Ozzy was #3 with the GWG, only his second goal of the season.

My Stars were Vinnie, Jack Matier and Reid Schaefer. They did a lot that doesn't show up on the scoresheet. Ryan Ufko and Mike O'Leary get Honorable Mentions.

I don"t remember seeing Rocco after he was slashed on the left hand. Maybe he got a broken finger after messing too much with Bellows?

The Ads had 4 goals on only 3 assists.

The Ads played well most of the game. The Monsters played well 5 minutes in each period. They looked tired during the first 15 minutes of the game.

They played at Grand Rapids on Sunday and lost 6-4. My daughter asked if they walked from Cleveland?

The AHL has a story, "Reloaded Monsters ride streak to top of North".

My story is "Monsters give up 10 goals in two road losses to Central teams".

The refs were okay in Period 1. It went downhill from there to the Final Horn.

The next 3 games are against Iowa on Sat at 6 pm, Sunday at 3 pm and back in Milwaukee for Friday the 13th at 7 pm.
Dunt, dunt, dah!!!

The Admirals came in with a two game win streak. Iowa has a three game loss streak.

The Ads won at Iowa early in the season.

The starters were Gravel and Ufko on D. Up front were Vinnie RW, Lucchini (C) and Schaefer at LW. Chrona in goal.

No goals were scored in period one. Each team was called for a Minor. The SOG were 10-6 Admirals.

In Period 2, Iowa scored. The Ads tied it 5 minutes later with a 5-on-3 PPG by Lucchini (5) with a great assist by Kemell (8). Seven minutes later, Gravel pulled down Caedan Bankier, who was awarded a Penalty Shot, which Magnus Chrona stopped. The SOG were 10-5 Wild. Iowa was called for 3 Minors and the Ads for one.

In Period 3, Iowa scored a goal off the endboards and past Chrona's glove. The flood gates opened in the next 7 minutes, making it 4-1. Kemell went around some guys and fired the puck at the net, resulting in the second Milwaukee goal, a tap in by Ozzy Weisblatt (3). The assists went to Bellows (6) and Kemell (9) with less than 5 minutes remaining.

The Ads pulled Chrona, and nearly scored a third goal on Jesper Wallstedt. Iowa was able to recover the puck and make a long shot for an ENG, making it 5-2, with 43 seconds remaining. That was the final score. The SOG were 10-9 Iowa and 26-24 Iowa. Each team was called for an early Minor, resulting in 5 Minors for Iowa to 3 for Milwaukee, a rare outcome this season.

Gravel was -4 and Ufko was -5! Prokop and Stasney were both zero. Matier and Nychuk were both +1. Maybe start a different pair for the game at 3 PM tomorrow?

The Ads are still in 2nd place despite going 3-4-1-2. Iowa is 6th place with 5-5-0-0 recently.

Schaefer didn’t play today. Did he get hurt last night or is he on way to Nashville?

Ads host Iowa at 7 pm. Ads lost both games at the Wild last weekend.

Chrona in goal. LD Statsney! RD Ufko. LW Ozzy. C is Lucchini. RW is Vinnie H.

Ozzy jousting with his opposite number before the puck is dropped! Bellows shoots inches over the crossbar. Kemell shoots a knuckle ball for the first SOG. Iowa being chippy 3 minutes into the game!

Line 2 is O'Leary with Bellows and Kemell.
Line 3 is Angello with Mutter and Rolston.
Line 4 is O'Reilly with Marino and Wall.

Ferguson just tripped Angello and then landed on top of him. Marino hit the inside of the left post after the face off. Livingstone was just hip tossed near the Iowa crease. Linesman stops the Ads rush and then Iowa scores on a bounce off a stanchion. Ozzy jumped from behind and 22 gets his butt whipped! They both get 5. Taylor us yelling at ref Tanner Doiron about the call.

Statsney (1) scores within seconds. Assists to Hinostroza (20) and Marino(2). Another goal by Bellows (8), also from the right circle. O'Reilly (10) and Livingstone (2) with assists. It was 11 seconds after the first goal. Kemell with a big hit in the SW corner. Wall with a big hit by the Iowa goal. Ads have come to play. SOG are 11-5 Ads.

Ozzy and the back jumper (O'Rourke) out of the box. Lambos (#7) gets stood up at the Ads blue line! Ads almost scored. The goalie, Dylan Ferguson, did not know where the puck was, but two Admirals did. Right post hit by the Ads.

Marino with a blast that Ferguson could not catch. It could be a lot more than 2-1. Mutter with a big hit on #3 Pearl. The Ads are punishing the Iowa Dmen.

"Ref you suck!" Bellows was cross checked in the neck. Ferguson started punching Bellows when he was face down on the ice. Bellows gets the only penalty! Ferguson is going to get run in Period 2 if he keeps up the DIRTY tactics. SOG 16-10 Ads.

These refs, Jake Kamrass(#3) and Tanner Doiron (#1) are AWFUL!!! Iowa has gotten away with A LOT OF ILLEGAL CRAP. Ferguson has committed 2 penalties!

Period 2 starts with the Ads short handed on the Bellows minor. The Ads killed it and start throwing a lot of checks. With 13:54 remaining, the SOG are 18-13 Ads. With 8:26 left the SOG are 24-15. Milne (#50) punches 2 Admirals in the face and Kamrass calls NOTHING. Lucchini tells Kamrass that "it better stop!" O'Leary gets 2 minutes for High Sticking. A lot of pushing and shoving by eight players. Cal just speared the other center who bowled him over on a face off! Ads kill the penalty. Iowa with a lot of cross checks, no calls.

The scoreboard was just hit with the puck. That has happend twice in eight years. Ads score! Angello shoves an Iowa player out of the way to the bench. The refs are huddling. Why? Livingstone (3) with assists to Mutter and ?. Nychuk takes a stick to the face and then Iowa scores to make it 3-2 Admirals. With 2:20 remaing the SOG are 29-19 Ads.

Ozzy (4) passes the puck, gets it back and scores with 52.6 seconds left. Assist to Lucchini (9). The horn sounds and #19 tried to decapitate Statsney. What BS!!!!! The Ads are not leaving the ice. Maybe they are yelling at the refs? Or looking to fight?
SOG 32-19. The score is Ads 4, Goons 2.

The Ads need one more goal in period 3. Iowa will be frustrated and the Ads are ready to fight! Ferguson is talking to ref Tanner Doiron.

Ozzy was in front of Ferguson after a SOG. I think the Ads are trying to draw a penalty from Ferguson. Icing by Kemell. Iowa puts out 5 fresh skaters. Delayed Penalty on the Wild. Milne for High Sticking. With 15:05 remaining, SOG 37-21 Ads. Vinnie blatantly tripped and no call by Kram-ass! The fans are booing loudly!

Lambos was holding Wall. No call by Kram-ass. Wall curled around and knocked him down from behind. No call for that one. Matier and a Wild player punching each other in the face behind Chrona. No Calls for that. Matier has played a physical game. Iowa ices the puck with 10:56 to go. Lambos just hit Ozzy in the face by the Red line. No call, of course. Vinnie had something to say about that by the benches! One more time for Iowa to Goon it up and all hell will break loose! #55 just hit 3 Admirals with his stick. No call.

Iowa called for pulling down the puck carrier in the SW corner. It is Tripping on #19, Bankler. A SOG and Ozzy gets close to Ferguson. The linesman just blew an Icing call with 5:20 left. The SOG 43-23 Admirals.
Kemell got high sticked. Iowa #25 called for the Minor. Ads with no SOG during the PP. They were running clock. At 1:28, Ferguson goes to the bench. Iowa gets 2 SOGs at the end of the 4-2 Admirals victory.

The Admirals snap Iowa's 3 game win streak. They aren't moving out of 5th place.

Milwaukee's 43 SOG are the most for them this season. The Ads are in 2nd place with 27 points, two ahead of Texas. Grand Rapids has 31 points, but has played three more games going into tonight's contest.
Milwaukee is 4-2-0-1 at home and 7-4-1-1 on the road.

Aaron Sims could not believe that Iowa was not called for a penalty when Nychuk took a stick to the face a few seconds before the second Iowa goal. I will say that it never should have counted in a properly officiated game! We did not have one tonight.

The 3 Stars of the Game were Statsney, Ozzy, #2 and #3, making his debut, was Dman Turner Ottenbreit. He blocked several shots, two on one shift, and played solid defense. He used to play for Iowa.

Team Captain Gravel was not listed tonight.

There were 4574 fans. The boisterous crowd sounded like twice as many. The fans cheered the Admirals, booed the refs, especially Kram-ass, and yelled a lot of words at Ferguson, the DIRTY Iowa goalie. His "girlfriend is on Tinder." That was one of the milder statements of the evening.

Milwaukee plays next on the road at Rockford at 4 PM on Sunday. The IceHogs were in 6th place coming into tonight.

I don't know what is going on during the Admirals game at Rockford.

Aaron Sims is angry at ref Shaun Davis for calling 5 penalties against Milwaukee in a 1-1 game in the second period. Lucchini had a breakaway and the refs blew the whistle to stop play and call the sixth penalty against him. He received 2 minutes for Elbowing. A Rockford player received 4 minutes for High Sticking. There was a lot of pushing and shoving and the game did not resume for 5 or 6 minutes. That all happened with 9 seconds remaining in Period 2. The SOG were 28-15 IceHogs. Nychuk was also called for a Misconduct, putting 3 Admirals into the box at the same time. Bellows had been serving a Too Many Men penalty. (The other ref is Harrison O'Pray.)

I have never heard Aaron Sims talk about the officiating so much as he did in the last 6 minutes of Period 2, when I turned on the car radio. The officials sound like the Keystone Cops. Those are my words, not Aaron's. Aaron Sims did say that the Admirals were short handed for nearly the whole period just before the third period started with Ozzy Weisblatt taking the face off. Sims also mentioned that the Admirals two PPs added up to less than two minutes of game time. Several minutes into Period 3 and neither team has a SOG.

There was a big pile up in front of the Admirals bench. So far, two players have been sent to the Penalty Box. SOG 32-17 IceHogs. Roughing on Zach Sanford and Navrin Mutter. With seconds remaining, the SOG are 5-2 Icehogs in this period. Ottenbreit has the stick slashed out of his hands just before the horn and no penalty was called on Rockford. We are going to Overtime!

Vinnie and Lucchini on the ice with? Rockford called at 17 seconds for High Sticking Vinnie. The Ads hit post. And another post for Milwaukee! The Ads take a TO on their PP. The Ads are playing 4 forwards, with Lucchini, Vinnie, Bellows and Kemell. Rockford saves Kemell's bullet from the left circle. The Rockford player came out of the box with time showing. He was sent back to the box for the face off. SOG 1-1. They will be playing 4-on-4 until a whistle. They play until the end, SOG 2-1 Milwaukee. We are going to a Shoot Out.

Zach Sanford starts for Rockford and goes over the right leg of Murray
Lucchini shoots a backhander past the left leg to make it 1-1.
The next IceHog scores.
O'Reilly shoots over the glove to make it 2-2.
Murray stops Gutmann.
Vinnie comes out to the left and backhands wide.
Hayes for Rockford loses the puck,
Rolston goes left and a save was made.
Mayhew goes left and scores over Murray's glove.
Bellows goes right and a save was made. The SO was 3-2 Rockford.

The only Admiral to score in regulation was Angello unassisted. That gives Milwaukee 28 points for second place. Rockford will still be in 5th place with 23 points.

Milwaukee plays at Chicago on Wednesday at 11 AM.
Next game is at Grand Rapids on Friday at 6 PM, then home on Saturday versus Texas at 6 PM.

Seems like MIL could really use Svechkov if Nashville isnt going to use him. We should send him down instead of the pressbox. Pärssinen as well but after Wahlstrom got picked up... it is doubtful Pärssinen makes it through waivers
At this point I am fine just waiving Parssinen. I would like to see him get his chance elsewhere. If he makes it through, well, then we know there are 32 dumb GMs in the league, not just ours for waiving him. But either way, I am just hoping to see Parssinen get a chance to play.
