Settle down. He's bound to have a couple games without getting on the scoreboard and "regress" again. :sarcasm:

Milwaukee had an odd game tonight. They totally dominated all three zones in period 1 and the SOG were 20-3 for the Ads. They had about 3 quality scoring chances and could not finish against Zane McIntyre. It took Iowa 12 minutes to get a SOG.

You could see why Iowa is the most penalized team in the AHL, averaging over 20 PIMs a game. They were called for 3 minors in period 1 and they should have been called for 3 or 4 more. Even McIntyre should have been called for Interference in the last minute of period 1. He went behind the net to knock an Ads player off balance when pursuing the loose puck that was crossing behind the net. McIntyre made no effort to play the puck. The fans were booing loudly until the horn. At 15:07, Brenden Miller came across the ice and plastered an Admiral who was without the puck. He was called for Interference. At the same time, #43 Greg Meireles punched Kemell in the face. Kemell was called for Roughing. That happened in the corner closest to me and I had an excellent look at it. That was the first time that the fans really got on refs #23 Jonathon Sitarski and #31 Shaun Davis.

In period 2, Jasper Weatherby scored his first goal with an assist from Jake Livingstone (1) at 6:12 of the period. At 12:11, Iowa scored when Milwaukee for once could not get out of their own end for about a minute. The Wild must have had 5 of their 8 SOG. Milwaukee had 11 SOG. The period ended 1-1.

In period 3, Milwaukee came out more aggressive and posted 15 shots to 6 for Iowa. They were close a few times but couldn't finish. Askarov finished with 16 saves.

At 25 seconds of the OT period, Mark Jankowski passed the puck to Statsney who passed to Dennis Gurianov. The puck angled up towards the net and disappeared at the far end from me. After a few seconds, the goal light came on. The goal was reviewed. The scoreboard showed the puck stuck in the net next where the goalie's water bottle goes. It was still stuck in the twine, for a 2-1 Ads win!

My daughter thought that the Iowa Wild should join the Federal League. I said that they needed to pick up Clarence "Screaming Buffalo" Swampton for their team, and maybe Oglethorpe.

Ref Ratings: Jonathon Sitarski (#23) and Shaun Davis (#31) get threes.

Linesmen Ratings: Greg Offerman (#91) gets an 8 because he had puck dropping issues. T J Lyle (#88) gets a nine because he was all around excellent.

Dennis Gurianov had 7 SOG, Fedor Svechkov with 6 SOG and Egor Afanasyev with 5 SOG.

Watching the Ads game and they really just called an icing on the Ads while they were on the PK...

I know @adsfan has a thing with AHL officials and I am beginning to see why...

It might be time for L'Heureux to take a break from competitive hockey and find some help

Three 10 minute game misconducts in 6 games. Kid is off to a great start…..
It’s time for the Predator organization to do some intervention on this young man. He needs help before he explodes. Forget hockey; his life is more important.

Does L'Hereux have any history of off ice problems that needs intervention tough? I've played hockey with plenty of people who are straight up psychos on the ice but are perfectly grounded off of it. and I've also played with plenty of guys with lots of off ice problems where they are calm and collected while playing. His inability to get his on ice demeanor straightened out could very well cost him millions but I don't think it necessarily is an area of concern beyond hockey.

It was abuse of official. He got tripped, the official called a tripping on Iowa and an embellishment on him. He went off on the official. Official rung him up for 10 more.

L'Heureux now leads the AHL with 44 PIMs in 6 games. Projected to 72 games that would only be 528 PIMs, Brian McGrattan had 551, so our boy needs to pick up the pace! :naughty:

Abuse of an official is pretty subjective, it all come down to how thin skinned a Ref is tbh. I'd be a heck of a lot more worried if he was getting them for flying elbows and bad boarding checks.

And one of them being after the final whistle, not sure I'm that worried about him telling the ref to pull his head out of his ass or whatever was said.

A bad boarding check got L'Heureux his first Misconduct. Livingstone nearly got his neck broken on the end boards and neither ref called a penalty on it. L'Heureux and Kemell went after the guy after he also ran into Askarov in the crease. Goaltender Interference was also NOT called.

We seem to have Outlaw officials in the AHL this season. (They are the same ones as last season. One guy is on his 9th year in the AHL. He is NEVER getting promoted to the NHL.)

I used to be of the opinion that he had anger issues that he needed some help with. After getting to watch him play every game so far this season, I’m leaning more toward him just being a dumbass.
