Not sure why everyone is dissecting this.

He’s been warned before and now he’s been fined.

Should be a warning for him and all others.

Given how many calls get screwed up all the time, if (and I don’t think there is an “if” here) they go a bit overboard on diving fines then count me in. Err on the side of eradicating it from the game.

Not sure how a $2,000 fine will be any kind of warning when he earns $9.5 million per year.

Obviously the money is ridiculous and a total non factor.

However, I have to believe that nobody with any degree of pride likes getting called out and publicly classified by the League as a diver.

Having skated for 55 years, there's a difference between being pulled off stride and falling versus just falling forward on the ice. This is the latter. Clear embellishment imo
