They are going to throw the book at him. The players safety book..In person means more games, right?

He runs around way less in Hartford because he can keep up better. He lays some big hits but he noticably plays differently in NY because his reaction time is poor at this level. I've seen 10+ games of him there. In the AHL, it was a clean hit.
Seriously, because i didn't see how he played in Hartford but I didn't hear anything about late hits in Hartford the whole time there. Is he playing differently up here? Does it have something to do with trying to impress? Is it the pace that's messing his timing? Did he do the same things in Hartford that weren't called?
Not a coincidence but yet some guys here don't get it.Rempe back and the team plays with a backbone?
Don't listen to me, listen to Crosby. He said it made a huge difference when they had a hulkish goon on the team.
Sounds logical. So, no amount of games in Hartford is going to make him react better up here, though. I'm not rebutting what you're saying. I just think he's better playing up here even with the admittedly poor judgment calls he makes. He'll only learn up here.He runs around way less in Hartford because he can keep up better. "We've prepared your personal XL chair."Soon Rempe will be a guest of honor at that in person office wherever it is
"We've prepared your personal XL chair."
If I'm Rempe's coach I explain to Matt that the meeting is an opportunity. Go in there with your friendly personality> Tell them you are not trying to hurt anyone. Apologize for anything over the line. Ask the person to point out exactly where he crosses the line so he can try his best to eliminate that from his hits. Then thank the guy. That should help him today and in the future.
There's a way to make that hit that doesn't lead to this. If he hits the guy with his shoulders pointed up ice, the guy bounces off the boards, maybe 2 minutes. Rempe's shoulders were facing the glass which means he squashed the guy like a bug. There's a code among players. That guy had to turn that way to clear the puck. He should be able to without taking that type of hit.
If he didn't learn the first 3 times, he's not learning this time either.
Rempe’s issue is that he’s so big in order to protect himself from getting hurt he needs to throw his arms out when he hits the boards. Hes gotta pull up there with the guys numbers facing him. It was a 2 minute penalty.
He needed to turn left and rub the guy into the boards. He went straight in and pile drived the guy. It was 5 minutes. It wasn't the arms up, it was his angle.Rempe’s issue is that he’s so big in order to protect himself from getting hurt he needs to throw his arms out when he hits the boards. And if you don't hear from the person after 2 days, follow up with a courtesy call and reinforce the points you made in the interview. If I'm Rempe's coach I explain to Matt that the meeting is an opportunity. On Rempe's ejections:
1. hit on Nathan Bastian---to me that should have been a two minute at most. He just ran over or through a guy who didn't see him coming. That part is mostly on Bastian's not being aware enough.
2. Siegenthaler hit. That one was a blatant elbow and deserved an ejection and a suspension. That said Siegenthaler pulled up to avoid a hit when if he had just taken the hit and not tried to bale he probably wouldn't have been concussed. I would think Siegenthaler won't do that again.
3. MacDermid fight. The Rangers and Devils had a five man line brawl to start the game and Rempe, MacDermid and three others from each team were ejected for not being in the initial fight that kicked it all off. That was a team thing and neither team got any kind of player advantage out of it.
4. hit on Heiskanen---more like charging/boarding. The elbow is kind of up but that's at least partly due to his being 6'9. He doesn't really raise it to hit with.....seem more like he was trying to turn his body into the hit because he didn't want to go straight into the glass. 5 minute worthy? Well maybe. Ref thought so.....but it wasn't all that outrageous as some are making it out. That Heiskanen is a big time player though is not going to help Rempe's case if there's a hearing. A lot might depend if Heiskanen is really hurt. He wasn't down all that long and he left the ice under his own steam. He might be fine.
I hope Heiskenan is a Borgan donor
Well then they need to stick Rempe in Hartford until he figures it out, and find another hulkish goon to help everyone feel safe. Because Rempe obviously has something to bring to the table but it doesn't help him or the team if he keeps taking major penalties and if he's suspended more than he's in the lineup.Rempe back and the team plays with a backbone?
