Are some you people blind? (rhetorical question)

That's a 100% clear cut elbow, high hit to the head AND boarding. 5 min major + suspension, no matter who throws that hit. lmao

I love Rempe and don't give a f***. Bad hit is a bad hit is a bad hit.

Not in the least in the mood for optimism, that's all I have.
wrong.

Boarding minor thats it.

Honestly if you listen to fox without watching the game you'd think the roster outplayed the stars. Without igor being unreal tonight this is another loss.
If the refs called the high stick on smith, the boarding on berard, or the miscellaneous head shot on borgen near the end, maybe it’s not so lopsided tho. I’m going with this was a clusterf*** and the boys dug down and did what they had to win. If they can build on some luck and grit here, I’m happy. If not, yeah, I throw up my hands.

Rempe is exactly what this team needs. The Rangers are a soft team, very soft. Not one team in this league is afraid to play them. For too long, they have skated around thinking their "skill" would win them games. There isnt one superstar on this team that is good enough to play that way. They need to get to the dirty areas and win battles. Rempe does that. People know when he is on the ice and they certainly dont want to meet up with him on the boards. I wish we had three more of him. That being said I think he's getting suspended for that hit but up until that point he was playing a very effective game. Hopefully Laviolette keeps him in there.

I don’t think Rempe gets suspended for that though. Hit was fine. Just an elbow. Thought they might rescind the game misconduct actually.

No it f***ing isn't

Rempe sees the numbers all the way, and still drives Heiskanen to the boards with his elbow up and riding Heiskanen's neck.

That is a major every day of the week, regardless of who delivers that hit. Just an unbelievable disregard to the opponents' health by Rempe there.
His elbow at no point ever hits heiskanen’s head/neck area. Heiskanen and the league as a whole has gotten WAY too comfortable puck watching as you see heiskanen do here after he backhands it. It’s 2 for boarding at worst. If its more than that lets just ban hitting

Dude he literally chipped the puck out of the zone as he was supposed to. Rempe has no reason to make that hit as there was no way he was going to be able
To make a play on that puck. This isn’t even an instance of the victim of the hit turning into a hit from behind, he sees his numbers all the way.

He had ample time to re adjust and just press him against the wall or just pull the eject button on contact outright but opted to extend his arm and smash Heiskanens face against the glass.

It’s okay to like the player, but it isn’t okay to make things up to try to justify what was a major worthy and suspendible hit. He has the reputation for a reason and it isn’t because he’s huge.

Can someone reach out to Brian Boyle? He would be the perfect person to teach Rempe how to play along the boards without taking major penalties while being physically. I think Rempe learning from someone close to his size might benefit him.

Why does he need Brian Boyle? He has a teammate, in fact a linemate, who is almost the same size as him yet plays a smart game and does not take many penalties and has never had a non-fighting major.

The violence and force that Rempe hits with idk if anything is ever going to be a minor. Plus "injury" on the plays gives more discretion to ref for a major.

If that were the case, he’d never be called for minor penalties!

If there is a place where his rep hurts him it’s there. He was called for a minor on the hit that knocked TVR out of the caps series and I didn’t like that call at all. A shade late? Yeah, but that happens dozens of times in every game and you shouldn’t be allowed to selectively enforce it because of who threw the hit when the contact itself was clean. Plays like that are worth complaining about because there are players who get away with much worse in identical scenarios (enter: Sam Bennett.)

Hits like last nights hit are just bad hits. It would have been a bad hit if Panarin threw it. It has nothing to do with Rempe.
