And which team would the Bruins compare to?Alabama and Ohio State.

lolI wouldn't even say the 2015 draft was his biggest failure as a General Manager.
13th overall:
Zboril was showing to be the defenseman he could have been, but injury derailed his career. They took him 13th, and he was the fourth defenseman off the board, where he was projected.
14th overall:
DeBrusk is a solid NHL player and fits in a top-six role on either wing
15th overall:
Senyshyn was a bit of a reach, but he was a great skater, and they knew another team (I believe it was Anaheim) was going to take him, and he wasn't going to be at their next pick. He was also starting to show some promise, and each time he got NHL opportunities, he would get injured.
37th overall:
Carlo - he's become a top shutdown defenseman in the league
45th overall:
Jakob Forsbacka-Karlsson showed great promise but ended up having family issues that brought him back home
52nd overall
Lauzon has become a decent NHL-caliber defenseman who can play solid middle pairing minutes.
75th overall
Vladar is a capable NHL backup goaltender who can be okay in the starting role on a short-term basis.
105th, 165th, & 195th overall
Jesse Gabrielle, Cameron Hughes, and Jack Becker played a combined two games (both by Hughes) and clearly didn't make it because of their own abilities.
DeBrusk, Carlo, Lauzon, and Vladar were all good picks. You can even put Senyshyn and Zboril in the "failure" category because of their injuries, but that's still 4/10 picks hitting—which is pretty freakin solid.

You did good Donny and it helped you get your extension. Now don’t fck it up !!!
Well, if you're going to call those two the SEC of hockey then there's close to 10 other programs that can also make that claim and if any conference can it's the Big 10. Seems pretty silly to compare the sports anyhow.Just for fun, who in NCAA football does BU and BC compare to?
What other programs produce pros like BU and BC? Since that was the original context…Well, if you're going to call those two the SEC of hockey then there's about 10 other programs that can also make that claim. Seems pretty silly to compare the sports anyhow.

I was thinking U Mass LowellThe Bruins remind me of Boston College Football.
They really had no choice other than to fire him, but what an insulting extension. For a guy who would have a job in 5 minutes, why do you accept on 2? He could get 5 easy 3/4 of the league. Neely is setting it up for he and the new coach to be axed in 2 if things don't turn out as planned. What is turn out as planned though? You know if he misses this year then makes it next year he stays. I would imagine the barometer would be like always 41 sellouts and 3-4 home play-off games since there is zero accountability for not winning when it matters.my undying love for Lou aside, and despite feeling like Sweeney is way too smug, meh whatever fine - maybe this past season will act as a needed dose of humility and he’ll do ok

He won't make the third year or they will be in this same lame duck spot they are now unless he meets their extremely attainable goals that he does mostly every year.3 years

I said BC Football because they so desperately want to be “big time,” but just can’t get out of their own way and shit the money bed every year. What 5-star recruit wants to go to a Catholic school with rigorous academics in a cold-weather city? There’s already one of those in South Bend, Indiana, and they have to fight tooth and nail every year to win and stay relevant. (Full disclosure: I’m a huge Notre Dame fan.)I was thinking U Mass Lowell

I’ve never cared for BC, but I hope for the sake of their fans that Bill O’Brien brings them back to some semblance of respectability.
There's likely a lot that are comparable including the entire Big 10.What other programs produce pros like BU and BC? Since that was the original context…
Northeastern, Harvard, and UMass have more players in the NHL than any Big 10 team other then Minnesota or Wisconsin. There's likely a lot that are comparable including the entire Big 10.
Oh, it is.I'd say playing in the National Championship game is a bit better than simply staying relevant.
I’m thinking he’s as good as gone if he misses this upcoming year. GM contracts often include clauses about what happens if the GM is fired early And without knowing the legistics of Sweeney contract, the writing could be on the wall, he needs to make the playoffs if he wants to remain the Bruins GM.They really had no choice other than to fire him, but what an insulting extension. Would be rare though, where a GM was to get canned before his new contract took place. If so this could be the end of both Neely and Sweeney if they do have DNQ at the end of the 2026 season.
Neely obviously imo put himself more at risk, because like you said Sweeney gets re-hired, somewhere, Neely not a chance at least as a team president.
He lives here - quality of life and family
You could offer me twice the value of my house I’m not selling
You could offer me a blank check for my pets and not doing
He’s got 9 picks and a healthy Lindholms & McAvoy returning
I’ll bet any honest person right now $100 they get at least 90 points in 2025-26
I’ll donate my winning to the Salem Animal Shelter the other person can do whatever they want
Hit me up
I am undefeated here and all the posters were fantastic and donated to the shelter in their own pets names
The Bruins took a 5 week blow it up and will be adding healthy Lindholms, McAvoy and Marchand
When Marchand $4.3 M dream house his wife renovated and moved in Feb ‘25 goes on the market I will believe it and bend the knee he’s not coming back
Until then it’s a hall pass and the Bruins got a 1st round pick
Bruins are sitting with $29 M and 9 picks in top two rounds next 3 years
I hate to bum Bruins haters but their blow it up free fall was from March 11 to April 15th
They will be back
