Well, they've got a player's coach now, who was thought to be someone who would build up the young players confidence as they develop. I hate to see Granato fired, but surely his days have to be numbered. Before that they had some weird guy who was out of his depth...or was that the coach before?
Maybe time for a no nonsense, veteran coach - in hindsight, was Ruff really that bad? He made the playoffs 8 out of 13 years. Sabres haven't sniffed them since.
- Berube is a good coach- tough as nails.
- Boudreau is a good coach. A bit more offensive. KNows, and understands talent. Questions about his ability to win in the playoffs, but that is a problem that BUF would love to have right now.
- Evason is a bit more like Berube. Gets players to play hard. Final comment about Boudreau applies to him.
Sabres need an experienced, pro coach. Granato hasn't been all bad, but seems to have taken the team as far as he can. I also think that the Sabres have to start valuing players differently, and start being way harder to play against. Sabres used to be( I still remember Horton playing for them, and loved Perreault- what a player!) a tough, competent team, and hard to play against. Since getting Eichel they seem to be chasing skilled players - nothing wrong with that - but not being able to surround them with good support players, and developing a solid all round game. That needs to change, before they piss away all the talent they have on the team.
