Buffalo was seventh in the Atlantic Division and 14th in the Eastern Conference before entering tonight’s game against Columbus.

They gave up 7 straights goals tonight in a period and a half tonight to Columbus.
To score in the first minute of the game, then all of sudden be down 7-1 by the mid point of the game shows that message is completely lost.

It feels like they have taken quite a few steps back.
As they were very very respectable 42 win team last season. Dahlin was performing like a top d-man in the league on both sides. Thompson emerged. Skinner and tuch were producing.
Now according to the broadcasters they showed a stat that Buffalo is the worst team in the league after a goal. Essentially saying once they give a goal up they fold and give up a bunch in succession.

Embarassing, reminds me of Raiders-Chargers, heads gotta roll.

Canucks ownership didnt want to pay 3 coaches, and so we had the Boudreau debacle before landing on Tocchet. It's better to just bite the bullet and move on if you believe you have the right players.

I feel bad for the Buffalo fans because they deserve a better team and on paper the Sabers should perform much better than that. The immediate solution seems to me to be a new coach with experience and authority to establish a system where players will have to play defensively and offensively and pay the consequences if they don't.

I was going to say I can't believe we are actually are year away form starting the cycle over again where players have had enough of the losing and are going to want out. But I think I can believe it now.

I think losing 9-4 to the Columbus Blue Jackets is a pretty good grounds for firing

This is the extra level of embarrassment you only get from being owned by Terry Pegula. Search Granato on twitter and look at the tweets. Sabres fans universally knowing he has to go…but that this isn’t a real organization so they won’t do it. Because they don’t do anything. A laughing stock on top of a laughing stock. 13 full seasons of ownership. 13th season out of the playoffs. Breaking their own record. Again.

He hired an unqualified GM because he worked for him in other capacities for years. They haven’t hired an experienced GM since they fired Darcy. In 2013. Pegula refuses to let anyone who knows how to build a hockey team build his hockey team. He is the worst owner in the history of sports. Put a yes man in the big chair. And here we are. Always.

How many coaches do they need to go through before they start trading one of their thousand draft picks and prospects for competent veteran players and goalie?
If only it were this easy.....

So many hockey fans in general are not listening to what has happened in Buffalo or have short memories.
This all falls on the owner, Terry Pegula. He's hired nothing but 1st GM's and all but 1 first time coaches. And when he did try and hire an experienced coach, that person used the Sabres as leverage to get more money from the Leafs to coach them, and wasn't there very long I might add. Babcock.

It's more than rumored Pegula has a reputation of pulling the "Your Fired" trigger faster than Doc Holiday at the OK Corral. And while yes, through high drafting the Sabres have built an impressive stable of young talent, that doesn't exactly entice managers or coaches to come in and try and fix this when you could be gone in 1.5 to 2 seasons. So Granato and Adams, they aren't going anywhere.

Then you have the ROR, Eichel situations, those type of scenarios when looked at in the entirety of Pegulas ownership has nearly the entire veteran players who could come in and help lead these young kids in Buffalo shying away from even considering playing here. So the kids are left on their own outside of Okposo and Girgensons to figure it out themselves.

Granato on the hot seat?
Not a chance. Pegula is going to let this one play out, for better or worse. And Sabres fans, who have stopped caring not only about the team, but hockey in general in droves, know full well it's going to take patience, of which this is little left in the fan base at this point.

And if your thinking Pegula should sell the Sabres, hang it up, not happening. Both Terry and Kim said years ago the team will go to the oldest daughter from Terry's first marriage, a rabid Sabres fan from childhood like her dad. So hockey fans in general, Sabres fans that are left especially, are just going to have to watch this play out, endure the pain. Because there is no management or coaching cavalry coming to the rescue. When it is righted, ot will be from within.

The way they’ve been playing lately is inexcusable and the coach has to bear some responsibility.

What gives me pause is that the same coach got this team to overachieve the last two seasons and the roster as constructed, while not this bad, is not a playoff team.

I’d prefer Adams get off his a— and trade some of our clone forwards but that is wishful thinking.

Won't be fired, This is who the Sabres are. Coming to terms with the fact they will not make the playoffs again. They won't be successful until the team has been so mangled that they get moved.
