Honestly, he's probably so disliked that he really needs to be careful. Some drunk idiot fan might feel the need to let him know how he feels. Having everyone hate you is not necessarily a good thing as it brings negativity to you.

Brennan confirmed 100% this morning on TSN1200 that he has been looking for an explanation of Karlsson's tweet and hasn't gotten it and it has become personal. Confirmed that Karlsson spoke to the media after the Colorado game, which wasn't all that long ago.

So, basically, Brennan confirmed that he is trying to be a *****-disturber.

i would say at this point the organization needs to reconsider letting the ottawa sun anywhere near the players.
at least have a discussion with them and lay down the rules. this is not helping our team win and that's all i care about.

I find 1310 to be far more PROFESSIONAL than 1200.

I tuned Brennan out years ago. He comes on, I turn it off - if I ever have 1200 on. 1200 whatever it is these days - Complete waste of time and very little useful, new information. Didn't an out-of-town player (a tough guy) verbally confront Brennan years ago in a hallway about some remarks he made in an article? I seem to remember him cowering in the hallways like a scared rabbit....or was it another Sun reporter? (This happened at least 10+ years ago, iirc.)

No 7 pages on here does nothing for him, it's just a hockey forum.

He only gets money from direct clicks on his articles and maybe for going on the Team 1200.

I have emailed JR, and definitely he is not receptive at all to feedback. He's extremely defensive.

...and I've been listening to JR since well before the Tanta Gupta days (i know he, Steve, Ian and the guys at Team1200 read the boards.)

Here's what I will warn Team1200. Don't make the mistake of thinking the voices here - not I said voices, not voice - are alone...a boycott of team1200 is exactly what's needed.

We need professional radio in this city - Ian Mendes is a great start. Love him or hate him, his thoughts are well thought out, rational, and not meant to stir up reaction like others.

Brennan is an absolute joke. ...for that matter I cringe when Simmer is on the air too.

Don Brennn, like it or not, is the medium for the fans. Karlsson should man up and give the guy a quote or two. I pay to see this guy and he plays for me and all other Senators STHs and fans. He should grow up.

Sens players have it very easy here, by the way. Too easy. There is no Larry Brooks or Damien Cox in this neck of the woods. No one in any media has reported that Karlsson has split with his wife. They are very good, unlike Scott Burnside, of determining what is on/off the record and the fact that many around the journalist circles chide Ottawa journalism for not asking the hard questions shows that they are pretty much lapdogs for the Sens players anyways.

Because that's not reporting, figure it out. You don't pay him for quotes you pay to watch him play 27 minutes a night. 3rd most in the NHL id say you're getting a bargain.

Reporters will justify reporting on nonsense and attempting to drill into the personal lives of players by declaring that they're giving people what they want. Im sure this is the nonsense that Brennan will spew to make himself feel less like a sensationalist hack of a writer.

I disagree on many levels. I think the majority of people don't give one syrupy corn filled **** what players do in their personal lives, and even if the opposite were indeed true, reporting on such nonsense is catering to the lowest common denominator.

It's TMZ. It's fluff, and any journalist that reports on such garbage is perpetuating the notion that it matters. That it's worth the peoples attention more so then something more important because hey, its on the news it's in the papers. That damages society,

It might be a drop in the pond, but its contributing to the vast ocean of **** that people are consumed with today. I think any journalist (and I use that term loosely when referring to a sports writer in general, especially the lowest of the low like Brennan) should have a responsibility to bring his/her readers important information, not cater to the TMZ audience.

It's disgusting, and I hope Brennan gets fired. But he won't, because the tabloid he works for is in the business of distracting people from important issues, they have an agenda just like all mass media conglomerates.

He's doing his post game scrums, why should he be required to do special one on one interviews about his personal lif with the Ottawa Sun?

This is just speculation on my part, but I could see him having a moral and philosophical issue with helping that organization earn revenue. The guy is from one of the most socialist states on the planet, does fund raisers for humane society in his free time and has his own brand of fair trade coffee. Maybe he doesn't want his name associated with a union busting, anti environmental, bank backing 'news' paper. Just a thought.

The most embarrassing article that Brennan has written to date doesn't even involve hockey. In listing his top five candidates for the G.M. post for the new Ottawa Redblacks football team, he named former CFL and NFL player O.J. Brigance, who is in the advanced stages of Lou Gehrig's disease (A.L.S). I lost my grandma to that horrible disease years ago. While medical advances have been made, it would be enough of a challenge to battle that disease, let alone build a team from the ground up.

Clearly someone who doesn't do much research prior to sharing his journalistic views.
