It would be my plan B but a distant one to plan A.Gonna have Zibanejad in the bumper

They could but also why? Panarin is an elite slot line passer. He has the deception of coming down from the point and freezing everyone with the threat of a shot. It's a proven recipe. When Kane gets here he's running the halfwall and bread is moving to the bumper. If they move zib off his onetime spot it would be completely idiotic. The team would be negating it's own main shooting threat. Like putting ovi in a bumper spot.
I’d say his shot is more of a threat from the bumper than where he usually takes shots fromPanarin in the bumper will not happen. It negates his best attributes as huerter said. Zibanejad will be in the bumper, he's done it before and his shot it still a threat from there.
The PP needs to be dynamic.
5 should be moving around and creating confusion, different looks.
We’ve been too static
Threat of a shot? Have you watched the same pp as the rest of us? Panarin's last play is a shot. He is also on his strong side which makes his shooting angle worse. That is part of why he prefers to play lw at 5v5. Kane is literally at home on the right side half wall. For all the "geometry" talk around here with the pp having a lhs on the right halfway is an absolute no brainer, especially when it's a first ballot hall of fame player who is an absolute ace at making the pass for the one timer AND who will keep defenses honest as a shot threat. They could but also why? Maybe you've missed all the Mika one-timers where the goalie is late to get over...because of the threat of the shot.Threat of a shot? Have you watched the same pp as the rest of us? The first time they put zib there before they signed panarin and then moved zib to bumper and panarin to the left dot. It didn't work then and it won't work now.when was the last time we actually had a one-time shooting threat on the right dot?
Chytil would be great there. Need to get Kane there and take Panarin off the 1st unit.when was the last time we actually had a one-time shooting threat on the right dot?
You have to take that shot with some regularity in order to establish a "shot threat." If you've watched lately the main way that one timer has worked has not been bread directly to zib, it's required the play to start with fox and then go bread to zib bc they are trying to force the goalie to make a push to his left first before having to push to his right since most goalies are now loading on their left foot anticipating that pass to zib. I don't know how anyone can watch this pp and not see how competent teams and goalies have identified the lack of nyr shot threat on the right side and just focused on taking zib away since Tampa started collapsing on him in the playoffs last year and basically gave panarin a straight path to the net with the puck which he still would not use to shootMaybe you've missed all the Mika one-timers where the goalie is late to get over...because of the threat of the shot.
That template aucks. It has sucked for most of the year. That is why we have a middling PP. The template needs to change.Kreider
Zib - Trocheck - Panarin
Fox
For as much of the 2 minutes as they can muster.
Give the scraps to whoever.
It's THE TEMPLATE
Probably Gaborik.when was the last time we actually had a one-time shooting threat on the right dot?
Keep it simple. Trocheck in the bumper. Upgraded version of Strome. Mitch Giguere singled him out when talking about how the Habs should mimic the Rangers PP. That group of 5 has the reps. They have the diagnostics. If when they get kane
the configuration will ikely be
Fox
Panarin - Mika - Kane
Kreider
I think that gives them more options to interchance and not be so static as people have complained about. Kreider and Kane can interchange where Kane drifts low below the goal line to look for Zibanejad in the bumper or PAnarin back door.
And Panarin and Zibanejad can exchange and try to setup a disguised one timer for Zibanejad
Strome is better than trocheck on the PP. He is much better passer and puck handler.Keep it simple. Trocheck in the bumper. Upgraded version of Strome. Mitch Giguere singled him out when talking about how the Habs should mimic the Rangers PP. That group of 5 has the reps. They have the diagnostics.
This isn't true but nobody is asking the bumper to do either of those things really so ALL GOOD!Strome is better than trocheck on the PP. He is much better passer and puck handler.
Trocheck is a downgrade from Strome on the PP
It's time to stick to the template. With Patty Kane about to be here we have to go ALL LEFTYThis isn't true but nobody is asking the bumper to do either of those things really so ALL GOOD!
